I drink too much but usually just to watch Norwich on a ****ty stream weekdays and weekends.

I had a nice bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon last night which was a bit naughty because I have to eat with it and end up snacking .

A life of sobriety would be depressing , not as depressing as sitting in an AA meeting listening to a bunch of **** ups blaming their terrible life choices on squashed fermented grapes though.

I started getting into Scotch but that gives me an evil hangover so I rarely drink it anymore.

I'm a paid up member of the AA now. Got it's breakdown cover with my car insurance last month. Just as well, without red wine I would break down.

 

Yeah, someone like you should probably stick to half a glass of sweet sherry at Christmas. Don't want to risk any strange reactions mixing booze with your anti-psychotic medication.

 

Few of us willingly surround themselves with culturally alien people, whether we're aware of it or not. Look at Africa, Asia and Southern and Eastern Europe for proof of how sane peoples respond to 'diversity' being thrust upon them by contemptuous politicians or circumstance. The population of England, until WWII one of the most ethnically-homogenous states in Europe, is now somewhere in the region of 35% foreign (based on the last census, now nine-years out of date, and the published estimates since). That is tens-of-millions of individuals. Think on the Sorites Paradox: a grain of sand cannot logically be said to constitute a heap, and nor can adding a single grain of sand to a 'non-heap' logically be said to turn it into a heap. But, at some point, we have something that we would regard, quite logically, as a heap.

Something similar applies to immigrants, and it helps explain why people can sincerely say, "Oh, but not you; you're alright" to a Bulgarian or Nigerian after criticising foreign-born denizens of the UK. It isn't the individuals they dislike, in fact on a one-to-one basis they might well like them entirely. But an entire community? If your 100-home street is entirely English and suddenly an Indian man or perhaps family move in, you're not going to bat an eyelid. Most likely is that you'll gain some Indian friends. But when half of the street is Indian, and the entire atmosphere of the place has changed in a way you couldn't articulate, what do you do? You look for somewhere else. Somewhere 'quieter', you might say, or some other excuse. Ask yourself also why ghettoisation occurs. Hint: it's because people seek out the familiar

Regardless of words, I don't really need an argument. It's a simple matter of revealed preference theory, really, and most left-wing Englishmen I encounter seem far too fond of their white partners, white children and disproportionately-white friend groups to live anywhere other than all-white areas of the South Downs, West Country, Yorkshire Dales or Scotch Highlands. What they say and what they feel, even if subconsciously, are quite different

 

There has been mingling of populations since we've been a species, going back hundreds of thousands of years. This country is a mongrel country. You're just fixated on ethnicity, which is just weird, and projecting it on everyone else.

You mix 'foreigners' stats and then move onto ethnicity, which is very different. Do you genuinely think there are more than 35% of the UK population that's not white? Are you really that ******ed?

Dunno mate, I’ve lived most of my life in London, surrounded by Irish, West Indians, Greeks, Turks, Jocks, Taffies and Norvern munkees like yourself. I love London and I couldn’t bear to live in some drab monoculture where everyone had the same accent, drives the same Japanese car, has the same haircut and wears the same Primark Christmas jumpers. Each to their own I suppose.
