All we’ve done today is a) piss a bunch of squad players off which won’t do anything for their morale and b) risked overplaying key players.

Dele has done nothing to suggest he deserves to be playing imho. I personally think he should be sold. His behaviour filming that SE Asian bloke and making that "covid joke" was racist ****e.

Gio has been the pick of the bunch tonight. Made an impact on the ball and off. Still not sure about the balance of the PEH-Tanguy-Gio midfield we all want to see but he’s definitely going to be a player for us. Still think he’s getting fitness as well but he works so hard. Been really impressed with Bergwijn as well the last few games. We’re seeing more of the directness and pace he’s known for.
Lo Celso beating three men in our own defensive third, then winning a throw-in! Probably not the best idea, but it looked great.
Job done. Group won. As usual, wasn’t amazing but the result is the most important thing. The Spurs go marching on
2-0 FT. Win, clean sheet and top the group. Some debatable choices, though. Strange starting selection, odd substitutions and an angry looking Winks. Mourinho will feel that it was all justified by the result. I'm not convinced that it was.
Good to win but it’s been at a cost in my opinion. Squad players will be pissed, both those who came off and those who didn’t even come on. With the schedule we have ahead of us, they’re going to need to be relied upon and you can’t help but feel one or two are going to be short of the required freshness. Gio MOTM.
