Another very dull half of Europa league football - game is there to be won but I have feeling we will need to make changes to get it done. Referee is the worst we have had in Europe so far. (this season)
Most disappointing thing about Doherty for me is that he was a RWB at Wolves who preferred the more attacking side of the game to the defensive and yet since he’s been here he’s barely ventured forward, it’s like we’ve got Harry Winks at RB because whenever he gets the ball it goes backwards or sideways. Don’t know if he’s nervous or something, he spent a decade at Wolves so it’s obviously a new vibe for him but ****ing hell, a lad from Spain has come over on the opposite flanks and looks like he’s been here years. The one positive though is that he’s made Aurier up his game.
Is it just me or are the commentators being unnecessarily harsh on Vinicius today? He's made a lot of good runs to draw defenders, worked hard and put himself about as a targetman. He missed one chance, but he hasn't had much service. Not playing badly, in my opinion.
Very. He’s not done much wrong albeit should’ve finished that late chance. In the games he’s played I’ve generally been very impressed. Our stupid formation so far hasn’t helped him as there’s one less body trying to get that ball into him and the forwards.
Lo Celso has dropped a lot deeper now, which doesn't suit him. We really need some cover for Hojbjerg.
