And I hope (and think) you're right. I'm just getting fed up of the frankly silly PR gaffes that are being caused. And LJ going on Jim White's show, with nothing much to say, when the headline coming out of it is "SD loves the club" and SD happens to be known to have been fairly close to Jim White, just doesn't sit right with me. I'm hopefully (definitely) reading too much in to it.
Up to this point with the exception of grigg Donald has barely spent a penny on the squad, now we have Lee Johnson who is a well established championship level manager he's in his 40s with time on his side and we only get managers like that if they're gonna be backed in the transfer market, the money won't be coming from methven or Donald so it all ties into the clubs plan to get us promoted and build the youth set up from there, I mean I know this to be true but even if I didn't it seems pretty clear that's what's happening anyway.
Donald is still the owner at this point, as far as we know anyway, so would expect him to speak to Johnson about plans going forward. He'd obviously be on a remit not to mention anything about KLD etc until it's, hopefully, announced.
I would say that RAWA need to go back in now with insistance of a meeting to be held, the club has shirked it once already but within the month or so since the club has not come out with any statement of any note and this is going against the regulations set for meetings to take place. I know its a bit of a touchy subject on here regarding the WMS lads and podcasts they hold, but I do listen to them and most of what they is is highly relevant and there most recent one yesterday is on the button. They talk sense as in nobody has never really known anything like the Sunderland debacle in the history of takeovers in football a more trying and draining last 12 months that is the Sunderland one. It is always investment and not takeover, every single statement that comes from the club is so confusing and on the fence and everybody is so sick and tired of it all. Its just like one big ****ing game these people are playing (especially SD) with the club and support and keeping everything for themselves and not letting anybody in. Its ****ing ridiculous they way this whole saga has been handled. Plus really as much as we have accepted that when this takeover goes through that SD is going to be a 15% silent investor and as much as we all know he is still the majority owner until things go through it still doesnt bode well that he is directly involved in sitting down with the new manager, again this is something the RAWA need to address with the club as - He is not wanted - He said he would go if he was not wanted - He is still there involved in football decisions....It is just lies, lies and more lies
I think the "WMS lads" (which might be an unfair generalisation but I don't mean it as anything other than a way of describing it) are right to be asking questions, and they're right to be sceptical. Where I have problems with them is when they twist the smallest possible thing and present it as evidence. Which had happened way too often for my liking in the last year or so. However as you say, in the last couple of weeks they've been on the money for me. My only remaining "conflict" with their common argument is that I couldn't care less if SD and CM retain shares if the overall picture has improved.
I think that Johnson needs to sit down and talk to someone in authority to give him the assurance he needs....understandable,it's a huge move for him,.....the new owners aren't in place yet, still at EFL,so it has to be Donald. On the plus side, seems like Donald has said the right things.
I couldnt really care a less about them retaining silent shares, as long as thats all they are doing (I do know CM will be working for his shares) but it is the fact that when I hear Stewart Donalds name in the same sentence as 'decision' and 'football' it just sends me off on one. I really have developed a massive dislike bordering on hate for him
Having read the snippets from that Lee Johnson interview I have to say I'm a little concerned about things at the club now. I was hoping that Donald would just disappear with Methven as a minority share holder but that interview sounds like hes very much going to be hugely involved as part of this "ownership group". If anyone can put my mind at ease I'm all ears
Start of what? I didn't believe takeover rumours back in the summer. Or the repetitive "soon", "its close" posters. Have I been proven wrong? The Guardian article changed my mind as it actually had detail and substance
The bloke’s a liability. Last time he tried to change the narrative he played WMS and Roker Report off each other resulting in a ****storm of bad publicity.
Like I said, no point. You believe that Donald is going to have a big say and you never believed the takeover rumours. So it doesn't matter what some stranger on the internet tells you, you won't change. In effect you aren't all ears at all. You will just have to wait and see how it pans out and then you can tell us you were right all along
Exactly, I am interested in how we do on the pitch however that is achieved, barring the club being run by the likes of terrorist states etc. If that is being soft as muck then so be it.
Think you're being kind mate. They are absolutely obsessed with "nothing changing" "SD still in charge" "nothing will change until he's gone" Wish they would put as much effort into looking at what is actually happening in the club at the moment New structure New direction New manager New Technical Director New majority shareholders which they constantly try to spin as meaning nothing. Its obvious the club is moving in a completely new and positive direction. Pity they did not concentrate on that Time will tell about the level of new investment and the make up of the shareholders But I'm like you and like most fans to be honest I couldn't care less if SD and CM retain shares Its evident already things are not the same and things are changing
Nobody expected him to slag him off. Would have been good to, you know, not mention him. Instead he volunteered to sing his praises.
Not at all, if someone has interpreted the interview differently I'd like to hear their point of view.
Storey has been feeling a liitle left out the last few days so hes just stuck a post on twitter that Sartori has burrowed money at high interest to gain majority control - I cannot put the link up as im at work and its blocked
