All Donald is bothered about is making money, he sees keeping a portion of his shares as his opinion to make money, if the new owners are successful then he either keeps his remaining shares which are worth more or he sells and makes a profit, I’m sure that’s what has taking the time to work all that out!

  2. Donald may not be in an enviable position. It's likely that the price he's receiving now for the shares he's willing to sell has been adjusted to reflect our current abysmal on pitch status. If control passes in the way we think it has, he's not going to be in a position to influence progress, and is therefore forced to wait our future upturn before being able to cash in,however long that takes, although there may be a time limit on it. It's also likely that he will have agreed to a process of future valuation of his remaining holding, unless a price has been agreed now,and that he will have to sell to a specified buyer, not just anyone he thinks will give him the cash.
So,he's probably not getting as much as he wants now and is going to have to wait for the rest.

Possibly correct about Cooky, would probably be on a canny wedge due to the length of time he has been at the club. I remember when the dildo twins took over at West Ham they were shocked that the Chief car park attendant was on 90k a year, not saying Cooky was getting that of course but his wages may have higher than the norm for a 3rd division kit man.

I’ve been extremely busy lately so haven’t had a proper look on here for a few days but...

I think Donald clearly had an input in Johnson’s arrival as he remains the majority shareholder but i don’t think it’s a lot, the strings are for me clearly being pulled by the incoming majority shareholders.. they obviously have the structures, plans and finance to drive this.I’m assuming the only reason their takeover hasn’t been announced is due to the EFL process which we all know can take a while.

For me it’s ludicrous to think Donald is doing this
What has he done in the last 18 months to justify the sudden interest, change of direction and god forbid a plan with some finance?
All he has done is stripped back the whole club to it bare sorry state.
There is no way he would strip everything he could then employ a DOF,payoff a poor appointment of a manager and employ a decent championship standard manager.. he can’t afford it for a start.
There in my humble opinion is big changes in progress and I’m happy to watch it all develop..regardless of recent form I’m very optimistic about our direction and future now.
As I say this is just my opinion.

He's speaks really well and puts a lot into perspective. Sounds like it's just a matter of time. As he said, in some respects, regardless who has made the decision to implement the new structure, its a good decision. Although I'm not sure he realised he was on camera, very fidgety!

    I'm not sure about that.
Iirc it was mentioned that anything that came within PAYE for tax was included in cap. If you are paying up a contract then its taxable
    Not certain mind

I would say though, if you have players on your books and you want rid to free up space..an agreement could be reached where the contract can be mutually terminated and a payment be made (to the value of their lost wages) in some form of non-taxable expense or non-taxable limit of severence pay

Possibly I'm no expert but isn't there a 30k limit on non taxable redundancy?

I am being cautious, and I have let my bed wetting get the best of me on here. But i'd like to think I'm not as mental as some perennial doom mongerers.

Wonder which players they have in mind for ripping up their contracts?

Danny Graham has to be one

Matthews? Bring in his own keeper?
I'd imagine anyone whos contract runs out in the summer is at risk of getting peddled.

I mean, this might be harsh, but it may be a case of needs must. If we need space in the salary cap and there are no takers in January, there could be any number of them getting released, if the new owner is willing to pay them off.

But I'd suggest Graham, Grigg, McLaughlin, Flanagan, Matthews and Dobson are all vulnerable. It's telling that LJ wants to look at Patterson tonight.

One thing to bear in mind is that we have switched from three centre backs to two. And when you have a limited squad size, you need to get the balance right. So whilst we have had a shortage of CBs due to injury, I can see perhaps a defender being sacrificed for a midfielder.

You'd like to think Flanagan and Dobson would both have interested parties in January on a free or nominal fee.

Its an early sign of ambition that they are prepared to do this to back Johnson with the players he wants. Could be a very interesting January

According to transfermarkt - the following players' deals expire in the summer. I know this might not be fully accurate because I think Feeney should be on this list.

Based on what I've seen so far - the only ones I'd keep beyond summer 2021, whether we get promoted or not, are the ones in bold. I think if we get promoted each of the bolded ones will be useful squad options. If we don't get promoted they'll be more likely to play.

The ones not in bold should, in my opinion, not be part of our plans after summer '21, in this league or any. May be harsh on some, but they're either crap or have had long enough to make it work here, and it hasn't. I'd be willing to let go of most of them in January as well.
