The boys at Wise Men Say, particularly Chris Wetherspoon, are the same. They despise the owners which is fair enough but they manipulate every quote or situation to suit their negative narrative.
I've been travelling the country 50 years, following the lads home and away, and don't recognise these tossers. They're nothing like the hundreds of great lads I know. I picture them as housebound, or confined, little specimens who love nothing more than trying to bring people down ... ... not being arrogant but they don't have a prayer with the proper supporters. They may as well give up and f++k off.
Come on! For all that he is a walking tree he is the only forward at the club who ever scores at all. But really, any manager is going to say he likes players he is going to need.
World domination! Every football fan will come to the Stadium of Light to bask in all its glory. Other football teams will dream to be held in such esteem as the team that plays in the red and white stripes when the mighty Roker Roar is in full voice
What you saying, anyone who questions what goes on and expresses doubt or is pissed off with things aint a propper supporter. Some of the (dodgy) experiences youve been involved with i bet i was there. Wouldnt be surprised if i recognised you, but can assure you plenty of the same lads are negative about the club due to yesrs of ****e witnessed same as me, so disagree with what you say. I freely admit i am on a right downer with the club at moment ( realise i may have been a bit of an arse on saturday, which a will apolgise for) but until a see evidence of us being ran properly, it wont change. And i know a lot of good lads who followed the club for years, like yourself, feel the same as me.
The closure explains why we were able to get Speakman at least, I’m sure I’d read before that Birmingham were aiming for category 1 status not too long ago!
Said it plenty mate, I don’t believe these folk go to games. You can tell when someone hasn’t seen a match live as you don’t get to see movement and off the ball, even on TV you miss a lot. Also see folk posting during games, all fine for exiles and folk who can’t get to game, but stayaways slating the club doesn’t sit with me. Not saying there opinion doesn’t count but you can see players get slated when you were at the game and seen they’d grafted there bollocks off with no reward etc. Seems mental that Brum would close their academy 2 month after turning out a £30million player, on that topic.
Sounds to me like he hasn’t got a clue what he’s walked into. Doesn’t know anything about the players or the club itself. Took the first job that was offered to him by the sounds of it.
To be fair, I posted the thread over the road and didn't mean for it to be turned into a negative. Regret posting it now.
I see he managed to hoy around a few Brentisms there Apart from the management speak, I like his interviews. He’s much more open than the likes of Parky, some interesting things to say. For instance I forgot Willis had a history of knee niggles but looking back it makes sense. He mentions the coaching staff quite a bit which makes them sound more a backroom team rather than the manager. I always felt Jack Ross used interviews to talk about himself rather than what was actually going on. I don’t think hiring him was a mistake, hiring another Parky would’ve been far worse.
He's hardly going to come in and say you are all ****, I don't want any of you playing for me. Any manager worth his salt will still try to get a tune out of the squad to at least limp to January
To be honest I gave up reading fanzines and listening to podcass a few years back. ALS became a winge that I only bought out of habit and superstition. They all seem to be pushing their own agenda after gradually taking over the fanzine or podcast, but sadly from experience in other areas, the agenda pushers will get heard more because they control the platform. They don't reflect the majority of fans, but can influence enough to echo their views and woe betide anyone who goes against them. We don't have a toxic fan base, but it's easy for people to use the way some of them go on to twist it to make it look like we do.
It’s what happens when someone promises the world and massively under-delivers. I’m surprised how many supporters SD and CM managed to take in, but their charm offensive was very effective in the beginning. As Mark Twain said it’s easier to fool people than convince them they’ve been fooled and coming back to reality has been a bumpy ride. When it came out he was bluffing, lying, appropriating parachute payments and selling off youth players a few of our supporters took it very badly indeed. Likewise WMS, RAWA etc. There’s a takeover going on and a chance to put him in the corner but they’re still stuck on a “Donald ****ed us over” loop.
He bungled the season ticket fiasco on 3 seperate occasions. Went public in his support for Project Big Picture. Decent sized gaffes in their own right, but when your employers have ripped 20 mill from the club a little self awareness on the scenario and fan sentiment wouldn’t go astray.
Exactly I think with a lot of people the idea that we must get SD and CM out of the club has become all consuming. The main purpose of any takeover. Unfortunately in business like life there are always people who get things they don't deserve. Nowt you can do about it move on or it eats you up. Their obsession with SD and CM is blinding them to what's actually going on here. We have a new progressive structure at the club with a very well respected Technical director and a manager who is looking to play attractive attacking football. They are looking to revitalise the Academy and invest in young players. If the share split is correct we have new majority shareholders who have a **** load of money behind them and influence and contacts on a European/Global scale. Yet I'm reading time and again people saying if SD is still here nothing will change. Open your bloody eyes man.
