I met Steve Bruce at the Jesmond Dene Hotel last year on Xmas Day. Spot on bloke he was. I'd have a few things to say if we'd been going again this year I saw him a couple of weeks ago ploughing along in his Bentley 4x4, its a tough life I had Bob Moncur phone me the other week. I assume they had him ringing all the corporate clients. Spoke to him a few times at the ground too. Don't agree loads with him, but he's a nice bloke and didn't try to persuade me otherwise when I said Bruce had no plan B. I was caught a bit by surprise and was thinking "Is Ashley using Bob to find out whether sacking Bruce was a good idea? Please let it be true" Then I remembered Ashley couldn't give a ****.
Played golf with John Lowe the darts player a long while back and Jocky Wilson used to pop round our local when he was around Durham cos he knew my Dad.
