So does the yorkshire take the same length of time to cook as the sausages, as I always think they won't be cooked through?
No did the sausages in the oven for ten mins first. Then took them out the dish and put oil in the dish to heat up for ten mins. Then added the sausages back to the oil and filled with the yorkie mix. Then oven for 20 mins.
I’ve tried some halal ones, tried some no meat vegan ****e too the halal ones were ok...herby n spicey but I imagine they are nothing like a fresh one from butchers...beef one sounds decent tbh
I will do and if I find some at the halal butcher...there’s one other side of town...it’s like a mini Asian supermarket...they have allsorts a ****e...heads, bollocks, everything...will look there...I’ll put a pic up to prove it init
Theres a small growing halal chain my way, 1st one was on North end road in fulham opened about 3 years ago and its been packed ever since. they opened one in Hammersmith too, its like a mini Market, they have a meat counter, herb and spices section, fruits and veggies and all those exotic foods in freezers that are typical of those places, they do these pre seasoned small chickens for £4 each, lemon & herb, bbq, spicy bbq, and a few more, handy as **** they are. ill often go get two of them for me and her instead of a takeaway cos they are bloody delicious and ya don't have to bother doing anything but shoving em in the oven, I know they sell them like hotcakes cos if you go there after 6 they've only a few if any left. Made me think of a dirty looking take away place called mandarin star on goldhawk Rd in Bush, you'd never go in there looking at the place, but they have pre made take away tubs with everything you can get at a Chinese or Thai... rice/noodles, everything from curries, black bean beef, crispy chilli beef/ chow mein, all in fridges, made that day on site so in my own experience the veg has always been fresh and crunchy and I've never had a bad bit of meat or fatty ****, not even in any beef dishes and that's rare I think for any takeaway usually (theres a 2 people table outside that's it - come.. Grab a box and get them to zap it for ya or take it home to heat up .. Kinda thing) they also bake on site so Jamaican patties, salltfish fritters, bangin cakes, breads, any bake you can get from greggs and more. Old Thai woman called Vivien and older man run the place, must be 5ft between em Anyways its so fuking cheap it's unreal, the standard takeaway rice/noodle/chow mein and dish tubs are all £3 each, patties 80p, bakes a pound 20, cakes are probably the least value for money but the dearest is probably 3 quid no more, probably get a full apple pie for that. Little gem of a place it is. Cant upload a pic its too big. @West WindsR you ever been in here bro? https://maps.app.goo.gl/zm71tZskV2DUvR7J8
I love these kind of places...hidden gems used to know one in Manchester back in the day....homemade curries like Momma just made it mmmm
Yeh thats it, I reckon they take real pride in what the dish up there, and over time that **** gets around with locals. I always pop in if I'm down that way, even to just say "hello Vivien" while she smiles and thinks "wha da fux dis ****?"
Me too. Mrs always sends me down to Worldwide Foods in Rusholme when I am back. Could spend hours watching them butchering meat. There will be one guy working on half a cow while another one dissects chickens. You can ask for basically any cut of meat chopped how you want it. You can spot the Brits who are married to Asians as they know what they are buying whereas the non-connected Brits just wander around looking amazed at what you can buy there. There's a great Halal Takeaway as well called Al Madina about 50yds down the road.
I was a Saturday boy in a butchers called mackem brothers down turnham Green terrace for bout 3 years when I was at school. Used to love doing Xmas run up week there, 9 days before Xmas eve, 7am til 8pm, place was non stop and always had a queue down the road and round the corner into Chiswick High Street, **** a bloke came every year with a earn of tea and sat outside the shop selling cups for 50p it was that busy, 2 full walk in freezers floor to ceiling packed with already ordered turkeys.. Got my wages in a big bundle at the end, bout 7 quid an hour which for a 14Yr old back then was a fukin hefty wage, on a usual Saturday not during Xmas I was on £4.50ph for example plus the bros always gave me what I earned that week again as a juicy bonus, 1st time I worked Xmas there I was expecting a few hundred quid I'd counted up with my hours, but he gave me a grand and then when I said thanks with abiggest smile on my face cos I said that's over what I was expecting and he said "wait... You've done well this week mate you've put that away a minute" and the.counted another grand into my hand one pinky a time like a massive legend. Also whatever I wanted to take from the shop for Xmas, all of us got do take whatever we wanted homeon Xmas eve.. Which for me was always a full smoked ham I'd boiled skinned and breadcrumbed myself that day. Great little job it was. Oh and the tips from of my deliveries were great cos I was a cheeky lil lad earning a honest buck and peeps loved that ****.
