How about Vesty playing up front? The other forwards can’t really complain on tonight’s performance. Pale blue writing.
Jesus, I hope Ralph sorts this out at halftime. Aimless and ponderous. We look like we have no real strategy going forwards now and are hoping for set pieces. Its working I guess but we look a different side to a month ago. .. at least the solution is on the bench.
Redders for Djenepo would be my first change for 15 minutes and see what happens. If not better then Ings for Armstrong and put Theo out wide
Isnt it nice to have options on the bench though? Imagine if Ings and Redmond were still injured and we only had Long or Obafemi to turn to?
Carra saying about Vesty’s movement and how mobile he is. Who would have thought you’d hear the words ‘movement’ and ‘mobile’ in a positive way when talking about Vesty.
But when they get it to the front players they lose it just as the cavalry is arriving, leaving gaps in front of the back line. I would hook Djenepo, put Walcott wide and see if Ings can keep hold of the ball better, to give us some control. We might then initiate the press a bit better, as I think he is often the trigger for it.
A pretty even half and 1-1 is fair enough, I believe we have another gear to go up to yet and I would like to see a re-energised Redders on for either Moussa or Stuey. Danny will be on before the end for sure.
Before we start again, a word for Brighton. They’ve played well, tactically and executed a good plan. They aren’t going to rip the league up but look a competent side.
