first 16 games under LJ …. last season W 7 D 7 L 2 GF 25 GA 21 ………….. pts 28 first 16 games under DH …. this season W 8 D 3 L 5 GF 19 GA 16 ………..pts 27 SO DH [ whom I supported to get the job ] is a point behind LEE, the team has scored 6 goals less and conceded 5 less … bearing in mind we now have "2 strikers" whom the majority say is what we wanted all along ...conclusion is pretty average so far, but what is the overall league standard? … who knows?
depends on the size of the trout! could have been a couple of now extinct fish washed up on the beach at galilee which weighed 500lbs ?
We visit St Ives 4 times every year, especially for New Year celebrations. You have to see St Ives on New Year's eve to believe the mayhem.
Love St Ives but it's ages since I was there last - I loved going to the Sloop for a beer on a warm sunny day and watching the bustling world go by!
I delivered some art work there in late summer of 2019 3 paintings ! there was an exhibition at a school bought 3 pasties in hayle on way back ate 2 of them they were massive .. the longest pasty serving shop in Hayle ..
R&W The Pilchard, a micro pub, is the best for real ale. Alas its only accepting Cornwall residents while we're here. Have to agree the Sloop is great in the sunshine.
Used to know a couple that ran a B&B (stayed a few times) there called the Rookery on the front where the bus turns around.... not sure if it or they they are still there?. Also got pissed at the club that has the snooker tables upstairs, can't remember the name of the place.....right on the front amongst it all!!
My auntie and uncle (brother and sister, not by marriage) both have properties in St Ives. And they spend New Years there. I done Biddeford one year, and even though it was with one of my ex’s I still say it was one of my best New Years eve’s. Loved the fact if you didn’t wear fancy dress you was the odd one out. Really good party atmosphere
Lee Johnson confirms ex-Bristol City defender Jamie McAllister will join him at Sunderland Former Robins assistant head coach already working at the Stadium of Light https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/lee-johnson-confirms-ex-bristol-4775912
I know that snooker place Onefor - played a few frames with my father in law in there - he died in 2000 so crikey it’s over 20 years ago
Think you had to be a member, not sure....remember it being quite nice, we were guests of Ron & Barbara from the Rookery!! Might have been 20 years ago when I was there!!!
You’re correct it was members only. Something like £20 for the year, or £5 for a temporary membership that lasted a week (to get the tourist dollar!!)
1For / R&W The Harbour Pool and Billiards Club is the place you're talking about. I'm usually found underneath in the amusement arcade with the grandkids. We stayed last February in a house about 4 doors from the Rookery.
Good evening. Sunderland fan in peace. Just thought I would pop in here and ask the City fans what we can expect from Lee Johnson? We're about to be taken over by a Billionaire consortium, and while we can't spend in league one, we will be able to in the Championship if we were to get there within the next couple of seasons. Despite what the media portray with "Sunderland sack another manager", theres usually "behind the scenes" issues that add to the sacking of managers. But I digress. While in leauge one we can't spend, dose Johnson have the tools to get us out of the league on a shoestring and if we do reach the championship, what's he like with money? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks from a very cold Northeast. ps" Sunderland til I die " was a pain in the arse on match days, cameras everywhere you turned and it got boring quick.
well it was not him totally spending money! he was given opportunities to "please I would like or not really" ….. BUT most players were sussed via backroom figures [and he did, maybe have a say although quite a few got taken away and sold] ….this will be a new venture for him should he be allowed to go out and buy his own ..no interference … and sell on should he deem them not parts of the jig saw.. he could do very well … it is a wait and see!
I would read back on this thread.....there's pages of it Shall we say, some thought he did well and a section didn't like him from the off!! Good luck with getting an answer and with the season!!
JW Look on any of our active forums and you’ll find threads on LJ. You won’t get one answer though - you’ll get 2 very opposite views. Lee polarised opinions and for every argument there is a counter argument. For every fact quoted as evidence to back up an opinion there’s a reason why that fact isn’t relevant. By all means read the debates (and participate if you wish) but in the end Sunderland fans will have to make up their own minds.
