Having that statue in Bristol honouring a particular man steeped in slavery was a disgrace... it should not be there. Each statue should be judged on its merits and history. My own bugbear is the statue in Durham Market Square of Londonderry, he was sacked by Wellington for being a terrible soldier and was a right bastard to the miners who worked for him.
Interestingly, QPR who had stopped taking a knee earlier in the season will now once again take the knee for their televised clash this Saturday. Against Millwall.
Utter crap! I too work in and around them weekly. Again because someone disagrees they are labelled racist.
I must admit, I think that sounds a pretty clear message of solidarity. Oddly enough, the booing has only served to make the knee relevant again.
Good post. People seem to be unable to think critically. Most us have more in common with slaves in our history having been exploited by the rich. Yet some remain loyal to those who **** on us.
I’m in Bradford right now and as I walk around there is a mix of people. I’m not even in a minority and I’m far from being under threat. I think you are either a bit soft or you view people who are different in an unhealthy way. I’d also suggest the narrative you use is an indicator you visit web pages who reinforce those views.
If you read my post correctly it’s says certain areas of those towns & cities. Don’t appreciate being told I read certain narratives either, if I did indeed read anything of the sort I would be able to form my own opinion as I did when I read your post. Again it’s far too easy for people like you to accuse someone of racism because they don’t agree with your narrative. Racism is a two way thing, BAME communities can be and are very racist pretty much the same as white communities. Sadly it’s an issue I don’t think will ever be resolved, burning flags & defacing war memorials certainly won’t help to repair relationships, if anything it has put the country back 25-30 years with regards to racism.
Why are they doing it ? 95% of the world are not racist, the racists could not care you will not change them, i wonder if in the future they need an operation to save their life, and the surgeon was black and he saved his life would his view change then and there are thousands of Dr's and scientists like him.
I'd suggest it is far closer to 95% of the world being racist. There's countries and even continents in which it is open, accepted and rife. Humans are naturally wired as pack animals, and on a base level we're distrustful of those in other packs. Time we (all races) got past that. Life has changed.
Racism happens to every race in the world, not just the black race. I’m all for stopping racism, but not just racism towards black people. That in itself is racist.
The world has come on leaps and bounds (when you consider 300 years ago there was slavery, empire building, 60 years ago in America, lynchings. Throughout those days and today we continue along the bumpy road and hopefully towards equality and fair treatment for all. However I cant help feeling that BLM is a major bump and is hindering and not helping the cause.
Ok - making a fair point here. what if both teams (if they so incline) stood together along the centre-line with a flag/poster that said somethng along the lines ‘kick out/end/stop racism now !’ Whilst standing still with a bowed head for 15 secs with refs whistle as signal to start & end for example. that should send a message that could only upset racist. what think you ?
I think that there would have been a certain percentage of Millwall fans who booed who are self confessed full on racists. There would also have been a percentage who booed who may have been institutional racists. Then there would have been many who would have booed because they were against the fact that they were being forced to watch a political protest, a one of which that they do not believe in. To call out all fans that booed 'racist' is a bit **** to be honest. I have read of quite a few black folk who are against BLM. If a small handful of them were at Millwall, and booed......?????? The media and the footballing world should not be condemning the Millwall fans for booing yet, they should be asking questions and listening to the answers as to the reasons why so many were booing in the first place. They will realise that a large portion of society, a silent many who cant seem to get their voices heard, agree that these protest do not have a place on the football pitch.
China has thousands of Muslims locked up and couldn't give a **** about what anyone wants, cross the state and your dead, don't see any bleeding hearts bending the knee against China...wonder why no protests by black people against them what so ever... could it be that they may hunt you down and kill you, is that why you are to chicken **** to stand up to them, or is it because England is so tolerant, that these bullies know they can get away with the **** they pull
I think you might be confusing the social movement Black Lives Matter with the various organizations that label themselves things like The Black Lives Matter Global Network Black Lives matter is a slogan designed to eradicate racism, but primarily a cry for help from people who witness, suffer from, or are disgusted by the institutional and inherent racism that exists in this world. It exists as a movement/belief/slogan/desire that is unlinked to any group of people or "militant wings"
then stamp it out in the countries that are the biggest offenders, but again too scared to do that so they go after the more tolerant west, Africa is one of the most racist continents going but not all tribes kill each other, although some have bitter rivalries and have done for centuries then there is all the Arab countries are they tolerant of Israel, BLM is bullshit pushed by bottle fed libtards taught by Trotsky loving teachers, to poison the minds of the mentally weak and feeble
