But it is an unfortunate, but inevitable consequence created by the ignorance in linking to a racist political movement.

It could easily be resolved by better marketing. The authorities have made politics a part of the matchday experience. It was only ever going to be divisive done in such an ignorant and clueless way.

None of the above. I just want to go to a football match and support my team without political, gender, race, poverty, etc etc etc issues wanting a part of it.
Football is my entertainment not my ballot box.

Actually, I didn't, as I've posted nothing whatsover that is racist, and supported my comments and views by among others, the former chair of the campaign for racial equality, whose views I share pretty much 100%.

I'm suggesting that there is a better way to tackle it, if racism is the issue.

By supporting BLM, YOU are supporting a demonstrably racist movement, no matter how much you try to cherry pick some other meaning behind the words.

Trying to get personal, as you clearly are, suggests that you don't actually have a coherent argument for the issues at hand.

OLM is racist? Is that because of his dislike of Americans and Donald Trump?
He will be disappointed to hear you think that when you go asking hi to delete posts and lock threads again.

True. My political views were diametrically opposed to my oppo who you knew. As they were to Steve B's and Ollie. Don't know yours despite knowing you for 50 years. That is because we never talked about it as the one common denominator we all had was City. A day out with mates to forget about everything else but the team and the game.

Feel free to point out where Trevor Phillips is a racist. <ok>

My views are pretty much in line with his, and many others of his ilk, which is about as far from racist as can be. Yours seemed to be aligned with an organisation that is demonstrably, and unequivocally racist.

You offer nothing factual, you just hurl easily disprovable ad hominems. You are among the worsed types of bigot.

Now, try to add something of substance, rather than attempts at childish personal abuse.

You’ve shown yourself a racist on here for a long time. Very subtly & also cleverly, but you do it.

You should maybe use google for some good rather than a tool to dig up a defence of your subconscious racist views.

Your feeble attempts at personal abuse are simply not cutting it. I've offered a very robust rebuttal. You've failed to rebut my claim that you are racist for backing a racist movement.

Do you have anything factual to offer on the topic?

But your viewpoint is based on what you have attached to BLM, I haven't attached any negative things that someone supporting BLM has done to the idea/social movement that is BLM. Ive attached that to the individual/s that did it, I don't get why you would do that?

But your viewpoint is based on what you have attached to BLM, I haven't attached any negative things that someone supporting BLM has done to the idea/social movement that is BLM. Ive attached that to the individual/s that did it, I don't get why you would do that, why should a social movement rebrand or change for you, why can't you shift your thinking for the sake of the good that the social movement represents?

I haven't seen the views you posted, And I am not describing anyone as racist unless they are are racist, more just trying to understand where the people that do say they aren't are coming from but cutting through the bullshit of 'political statements'. It is worth noting though that no matter what colour you are, an opinion is an opinion, for instance, There is no weight to Les Ferdinands comments on the social impact of BLM as he is just not qualified, being black does not qualify him, it is still just one more opinion, although his experiences are relevant im sure worth listening to.

I get that and appreciate the response.
Remember when the announcer used to come out and say "North Stand....South stand...." and so on so forth, I thought it was daft so I just read my programme for the minute it lasted for. I guess my question is, if someone is not that fussed and just wants football to be football, why not read your programme for 30 secs, go get a pie, daydream, whatever?

Why the **** is this thread open? It must be 24 hours ago I pointed out it was in clear contravention of the board rules, and others have done the same numerous times since.

No matter what anyone’s views are on taking a knee, this highly political thread is a massive stain on this board and will put off numerous people from posting. That would be a crying shame given the great things this board has done for City fans over the years.

Whether you attach the baggage to BLM or not is academic, many people do, and there is very good reason to want to distance from a racist organisation, especially given the message they are trying to sell.

It's either ignorance, incompetence or malice that has put the football authorities where they are. A wiser person would change the tagline, and openly condemn the racist BLM movement.

This thread, and others on many other forums show that it is divisive in the extreme. It serves as a great example in a failure of marketing.

Anyone that genuinely wants to unite players and fans against racism would see that, and take the appropriate action, rather than defending what is indefensible as it is itself causing division.

"my age, or the fact that I am white working class male doesn't make me a racist and I resent anyone who hangs that label around my neck." This is the sentence I like.

I would like to think I am not a racist. But when experts such as Sir Cheshire Ben define who is from someone's use of language? The post I liked in particular? Am I now a racist by association? Yep, a hell of a label to hang around anybody's neck these days.

Who was it on CI, that when accused of being a racist, shut the discussion down with two words? The words were "Define Racist"

No, keep politics out of football. Simple as, If you have an issue take it up with your MP, don't impose it on me.

I’ve been no more personal than you have.

I view you as a racist. You would rather spend time finding reasons, many of which are wrong or deliberately misinterpreted (defund the police), not to stand (or kneel) against racism than actually take a stand.

You protect & encourage the more openly racist ****ers on here rather than closing them down. You’d rather close down, with whataboutary, thise who choose to speak out.

You’re an in denia,l sneaky racist. The others are in denial too, probably more through age ignorance but you know exactly what you are & what you’re doing.
