The only true barometer of who is running what, is what happens on the football side of things. That's the public face of the club and all that concerns me really. I really don't care if Donald and Methven are playing cloak and dagger games in the background as long as the club is sustainable and the team is doing well. As others have said though, I can't see Louis-Dreyfus becoming involved, or even just lending his name to the project, and letting Donald call all the shots.
Is there something other than the chronicle article? Because I cant understand these meltdowns at all. The chronicle articles gave direct quotes from the manager, he’s not going to name people not signed off yet, both him and the sporting director have been very careful about only calling it an ownership group. Ive seen nothing in that article to contradict the article in the echo saying KLD interviewed him. Yet because people are wanting this to be negative they are reading into what they want to see, I saw someone this morning say that Donald was heavily involved and was pulling all the strings yet all Johnson has said is the ownership group has a vision and Donald is involved in that group. Not sure how people can think Donald has on his own convinced Johnson to turn down the derby to come to sunderland or actually afford him to begin with.
It's still a good long term investment. Could have been sold on the good job Madrox have done with the finances and agreed to invest to continue the project? We've seen how reluctant to lose involvement SD was on STID. At least we now know SD is involved and we don't have to speculate.
I have to say I was so disgusted that in my 62 years of watching the lads I have probably not felt as bad as i did watching grown men producing **** like that in the final third. I have just watched LJ's after match thoughts on the game and I feel we now have the right man in charge to turn things round. Even if we don't get promotion I can see this lad eventually turning us into a team that plays for each other and attacks and gives the fans something to cheer about. It may take him this season to sort lots of crap out and at least 2 windows to produce anything like what a team should look like. I think he will have his side kick (Whoever it is) in by the end of this week and possibly a new first team coach. With two games a week it doesn't give him much time on the training pitch so it could be painful for a while yet. He'll sort it though. Of that I have no doubt
haven’t seen anyone say that at all, what I have seen is a complete polar opposite to some saying Donald had nowt to do with Johnson appointment. Let’s be honest it’s got his mucky paw prints all over it,
I hope you are right. If I'm being honest, I thought what LJ said on Sat was pretty obvious, it's something I was talking about during the game. It's changing the culture and the philosophy that is key here. Talk is cheap. Am 100% behind the new man, but sceptical that anything will drastically change
As you would expect till the takeover goes through. People are desperate for any sign of negativity over on RTG and stuff like this is pounced on like a tramp on a bag of chips
Don't think that's the case m8 more likely they were relying on him to finance their unadequate leadership which he realised was throwing good money after bad so decided to look for a better solution and to find some finance himself
I am ready for another season in this division as long as we start off next season with a brand new set of lads. Keep the good ones we have here and add to them with what he believes will get us playing the way he wants. So by end of next season that is 4 windows. Thats enough to get us ready for the championship Having said that. Maybe these new money men can come in and say right in January we are paying off the likes of Grigg etc and fast forward the influx of young fit energetic committed lads
Caulkin has taken his head out of his beloved Newcastle’s arsehole to write an article on us, how nice.
Well, you're obviously smarter than everyone else so there's nowt I can say. That poor lad being fleeced out of his money as well ... ... you'd think someone would warn him.
haway mate yer not daft, this place is the opposite to RTG, a bit too happy without knowing the full facts at times, the smart ones take on board both views and then make their own mind up.
