I haven't seen enough of Lyndon Dykes to warrant an accurate opinion but I do know that Scottish fans are raving about his performances for them. Apparently in a Scottish shirt his work rate his phenomenal. He's a constant nuisance, a bully and the nasty niggly b*stard they've been crying out for.
For us he appears to be a decent penalty taker. Er, and that's it. But is it down to lack of quality around him, lack of chances being created for him or does he just not fancy it in west London?
I'd be interested to hear opinions from those who've watched him more closely than me.

No service renders him ineffective for periods of games, he'd do better in a 3-5-2 as he's pretty isolated in MW's set-up at present...

He suits Scotland’s style perfectly. We couldn’t play a more different style.

He does look half a yard off at times but like a lot of these players he’s inexperienced and a bit of a punt so a lot to be asking him to come in and effectively replace a much more expensive and experienced player like Hugill straight away.

He's great in a Scotland shirt - but he gets plenty of chances given to him by the wide players. Clarke has set the team up nicely for him, I just don't think we have the quality personnel to provide him with the service he needs. He needs to get some confidence back into his game for sure, but the one goal he's scored from open play is a sign of what he's capable of, and not dissimilar to those he was scoring for Livi and at national level. He needs BOS to be on top form as do the rest of the team. Willock is starting to show signs that he may be capable of delivering some good balls into the box for him too.

    Some interesting thoughts.
It does beg the question that seeing as he was our big money (by our standards) signing, why Warburton hasn't looked to Steve Clarke's system which is working, to bring out the best in him? Even if that means changing our current misfiring system.
Also, why spend that money on a player, presumably one who you're going to build the team around, who doesn't suit the system you intend to play?

Tremendous. I expect this will go down nearly as well as a Hull trawler.

I'm pretty sure he didn't buy Dykes in order to build the team around him.

    I ****ing hope not.

We haven’t got any players you would build a team round, so we have to build a team. About time we made a start on it, it’s been literally years of lose a load on the trot, win a few on the spin, kind of scrape through, and it’s getting tedious. Plus I can’t see where the win a few on a spin are coming from, even in this league of mediocrity.

You seem triggered. Are you triggered? Don't worry, people have been complaining about my presence on Not606 since I joined, in the first wave of members after the old BBC site closed.

    'N' on Erik (18th February 2012)

"TBH a weeks ban isn't long enough. I know he has his friends and supporters on here who like to egg him on, but IMO he brings nothing to the forum and almost every thread he posts in turns into a slagging match or totally off topic. He drives good posters who actually talk about football away from the forum and half the time comes across as a twat"

I had a little joke about dykes and anuses. No harm in that, is there? Just try not to be a miserable sod, my friend, and enjoy a jest with the rest of cyberspace <laugh>

    A little bit of advice.....

Please don't come on here telling other posters, who's personal circumstances you know nothing about, to stop being miserable.

    Thanks.

It can take some players several months to really get used to their new situation and he may see playing for Scotland as a relief and could take the pressure off, plus their style suits his play, which has already been stated.
