How did the ref even given that initially is the worry. If no one appeals kind of assume it’s not a pen. also why is coady then not booked for diving?
All in all a good half. Bit cagey at times but understandably so given Wolves' pace and threat on the counter. Some really good football at times.
Strange half. Wolves just playing on counter and getting at us where we don’t have Fabinho covering the full backs from midfield. Need to start creating chances. With the ball we look good until we get to 18 yard box and seem to slow things down and allow wolves to get 10 men back
It's ****ing farcical. Mane was going for the ball which should be fair game anyway although I'm amazed he even managed to pull out of that in time. Ref has no clue even he even considered it as a foul as he should be able to go for it. How he then wasn't booked after the VAR clearly showing it was a dive is beyond me. Edit: VAR had a perfect opportunity there to discourage divers by issuing yellows when proven to be no contact. What's the ****ing point of it.
Since being booked Williams as been scary, red card waiting to happen! Swung wildly a couple of times for the ball and missed, fortunately missing the opponent too.
Overheads are allowed in any situtation by an attacking player...can't have it ok in some situations and not in others. Either allow them or don't.
Is it a VAR thing? Ref no longer blowing for it, they're letting play go knowing VAR will rectify if they did dive but yellow cards can't ve issued via VAR? #noidea
Actually, they're only allowed if it doesn't endanger the opponent. However in that situation, just get it clear. Overhead wasn't needed
Thought we were nicely in control that half... just yet again not quite getting that final pass right. Thought Widji looked very good, firmino confidence looks back. Young lad Williams just panicky a bit if he's beaten. Kelleher looked confident again...
Kick up the arse as done him good, much better performance from him, more like the Bobby of old. Did i hear the commentator right? That 2200 odd nutmegs in his career to date?
