Spot the mask! Some will no doubt be having a happy Covid spreading Christmas...

I know I live in a rural-ish town in Somerset so not directly comparable to the big cities but its stunning to see the lack of masks, its almost unfathomable (assuming its real) to be at this stage and have such utter lack of respect. We have a glimmer of light at the end of this **** now but looking at these pics you have to wonder how many folk won't get to reach that light.
That said it does look a bit suspicious seeing that many young people crowded outside Harrods, literally no one over 30 to be seen.

We can always blame the government for this?
On a serious note I had an amazing time in Somerset before the lockdown. What a great place to live. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I blame the government for not making things clear on masks. The information was confusing. :emoticon-0100-smile

Dammned if they do dammned if they don't really. Tiers should work but are reliant on the public adhering to them. Alas certain members of the public seemingly can't be trusted so its either gamble with tiers or lockdown.

Aye its not too bad being a country bumpkin. Where did you stay?

Not really. I have nothing of political interest to discuss. We are in some weird limbo place at present. My post was genuinely referring to Covid rather than Sir Starmer hiding. :emoticon-0100-smile

Christmas market in Nottingham closed down as it was submerged with people, many youngsters, with zero social distancing.

I don’t think the guidance is to wear a mask outside but I did today in town (essential visit to buy a birthday cake) as it was rammed, and not just with kids, people of all ages ignoring distancing to buy food from Christmas stalls. Now I like a hot pork roll as much as the next person, but not in these conditions. It was actually better inside the shops. This is tier 3, seems to me that closing pubs and restaurants will not prevent another pre vaccine wave if this behaviour continues. There was an air of hysterical desperation about. The masque of the red death indeed.

Headlines in the red-tops urging people to "Shop for Britain" won't be helping. Can't remember what paper it was, saw it on the shelves last week.

Whilst I understand the idea behind the campaign, and have every sympathy for shopkeepers, begging people to pour out into the streets to spend money they haven't got is irresponsible - and the people going out to spend their coin should take all the precautions required instead of milling around in mobs, and then wondering how in hell they've managed to get infected.

The lack of social distancing from such a seemingly large proportion of the population is just unbelievably dumb.

I think this is a rollover from behaviour which started years ago, this supposed need for every body to have their own way, get to where they want to be without regard to anyone else, in a significant (but thankfully by no means all) proportion of the population. From my observations age is pretty irrelevant to this trend. When my kids were at school I’m sure I got a bit of a reputation, given the number of mums dropping off their kids who found it necessary to cut me up in their hurry to leave, who I used to yell ‘please, please, you go first to foil that terrorist plot/ perform life saving brain surgery on a child, or whatever it is that forces you to be so rude’ at. When they were obviously off to play tennis or meet their toy boy.

Now I like to yell “wow your cock must be tiny, and the chip on your shoulder huge” at drivers of ludicrously over powered noisy cars who deafen pedestrians cruising around town centres at low speed. I suspect this is quite risky behaviour on my part. Take your ****ing Ferrari to a track day and drive the Golf around town, twats.

Misanthropic is a brilliant word. Humbug.

Rudi Giuliani tests positive for the China virus (Trump's words, not mine). Dear oh dear.

I wouldn't wish bad health on anybody but is anybody surprised?
