I doubt Premier League footballers vote Labour. Or care about left/right. They probably do care that their colleagues and team mates get monkey chants or racist social media attacks directed at them all the time.

‘Taking the knee’ is not a personal choice by footballers.

it should be but woah betide the first uk footballer who doesn’t take it

time to change the message ...

Clubs and associations can show support by promoting UK initiatives and charities

but individual players need to make their own choices

Bizarre how people associate a campaign that has the same name, same slogans and same symbolisms as 'Black Lives Matter' with, er, Black Lives Matter

It's funny how outraged not606ers are about anti-racism campaigns, yet barely no **** opens their mouth to denounce the streams of racist pish soaking this forum every day.

Maybe they're all as uninformed as yourself?

Saying that, it's a bit harsh on Millwall fans. Doubt they're as thick or ugly as yourself <ok>

And I take my hat off to him

He faced losing it all , his contract , sponsorships etc. (And made some ****in idiots by Nike goods just to burn)

but that’s his individual choice and his individual action

    Not a contrived group action

Will I now be lumped into the gammon category ?

I’ve had many different opinions, discussions and arguments on here when I believe people are talking ****e

the problem in here is that one opinion usually tends to put people either firmly in the left or firmly in the right or far right !

Pud where did I say that?

You said footballers are taking the knee for BLM.

    I proved they're not.

I don't see where else it goes from there?

My point was that no one says anything about the vile racism on here every day. Yet I have half the forum yapping at me if I answer a question about statues.

But why? It's easy to say that he was sufficiently moved by principle to give up a million pound contract, but the point is was it necessary? He clearly has a fraught relationship with his white biological mother, who as I recall took pot-shots at him on Twitter for his disrespect of the US anthem, but he owes his success to the love and devotion of adoptive parents and siblings who are all white. Even in the US, which has a far less respectable record on race relations than the UK, the majority of the arguments we hear are distortions, gross exaggerations or outright falsehoods. Some of them are cleverly-concocted statements that appear to be profound insights on 'institutional racism' - a phrase which originate with American black power movements by the way - but which actually, to those of us with a brain, reveal something quite different.

An example would be 'black men are x-times more likely to be imprisoned'. Hear that and you instantly assume a position of sympathy, thinking there are discrepancies in the way the law is applied. Then, your common sense kicks in and a simple googling of the facts will reveal that black males are several-hundred per cent more likely to commit murder, rape, drug offences, crime against property... hardly something that will convince the average bloke that they're victimised

One of my main issues with Brexit is a travel across Europe for work and many flights are connecting flights ...I used to have it down to split second timing

now going to have to build time for being in the ‘other’ immigration que !

might have to find an Irish granny

Some will. Rashford in particular. I would imagine that Sir Alex has had some influence there as well as his background.
