Let's be honest he's got absolutely **** all to choose from, all his options ATM ate awful it's like being asked how do you want to die stabbed or shot.

It must be his first priority in January but until then he has quite a few games to navigate through with beavers and butthead as his only options

He's got a kid called Mitch Curry. He could give Usain Bolt a start over 10m and beat him. Obviously might take a few games but couldnt be any worse than the other 3. Benji with a damaged hamstring is better than them 3.

wonder how many out of contract strikers there are out there right now without a club who if any, could do a job for us in the short term

    Going forward till January

    4-2-3-1 (if available)

    Burge
    Sanderson Willis Wright Hume
    Power Scowen
    Gooch Maguire McGeady
    Curry

Leadbitter to come on later in games if we need someone to put their foot on the ball and slow the tempo.

Need a cm, winger and striker in January. Have to pay a few contracts up to make room in the salary cap

You’ve obviously not seen power and Dobson together

Christ shows how early it was when I posted that. Meant Scowen not Dobson. Dobson would be one of the players I hope we pay off

Tin hat on but if you have

Will Grigg who scored bucketloads before coming here.
Graham who was reasonably successful in league above before coming here.
Wyke who has consistently scored a reasonable amount of goals before coming here
O'Brien who has scored a modest number of goals before coming here

and all 4 appear to have been totally destroyed confidence wise at various stages here, something is very wrong.

None of them are Thirry Henry by any means but they should be scoring more goals than we've seen.

Its the rest of the team as much as the strikers themselves.

The problem is the strikers are too similar and all lack pace. The pace issue is about tactics as much as anything as at the moment we are easy to defend against and are forced to push high up the field to work the ball towards their box. This leaves space for their team so whilst trying to score we are making it easier to score against. It also condenses the field of play making it more difficult for our midfield.

Granted our players arnt the best but wouldn't mind betting adding a pacy striker and winger/forward would make a huge difference to our play and we will see the better side of our existing players

Strikers can't score without service. They are getting little quality falls in the box, Wyke occasionally finds himself with a chance and concerts about 50% of them.
Strikers have got to hunt out the ball in the box to score goals, ours don't.
Strikers have to anticipate where the balls going to end up in the box and ours dont.
A bit of pace would help we don't have any except young untried kids.
The answer stems right through the team, move quicker pass the ball quicker, anticipate and if they can't do that then get players in who will.

Unless and until we lose the present so called strikers and bring in some new ones with pace, we are stuffed.

I know its the Premiership but I saw Chelsea's last goal against dirty Leeds last night. Pure pace, a winger haring down the line, burning off the defender, crossing to striker absolutely busting a gut to get on the end of a cross. Its simple really as in so many sports there is no answer to pace. The English rugby winger May scored an amazing try a couple of weeks ago, all down to switching on the after burners.

DC, who is turning out to be a decent commentator, keeps his criticism subtle, but he is affectively screaming we need pace most of the game. Slow build-up just allows the defence to get in shape...

We had someone with pace, who in another dressing room not far from the SoL, was applauded in by his fellow team mates after a blistering 60/70 minutes. Including 2 goals.

The absolute mess we have made... we could even be worse than Bonko Johnston... but probably not.

Perfect example of our issue as fans as well though. Yet another player under appreciated and chased out by fans. Yes he wasn't the most technical but he would get us up the pitch and was direct. Fans need to appreciate the finer points of tactics and players

Johnson nailed it yesterday after 3 hours. No bodies or movement in the box. Power and pace needed. We must be the easiest team to defend against.

If we could have been bothered to look, I would be astonished if a fitter, quicker, keener forward couldn't have been found playing in non league football than we currently have playing.
