A wasted season. A bunch of players who are mostly not as fit as other teams, not as bothered, not as skilful, and not as young. The way that young lad just ignored his marker to score was almost comical in it's predictability. It would take years to turn this rabble into something even resembling a proper professional team, they will never make it. If I was a championship manager and looking for players from League one there is not one player I would take from our squad, with the possible exception of Hume on potential. If I was a League One manager there might be about three. Hume, Onien, Willis. Possibly Wright... possibly. Johnson might come to regret coming here unless he is given the authority and cash to get rid of almost all of them. They might get games in a walking football team.
Better interview than Parkinson talking about crosses into the box ffs, long road back and we have to give the new regime time to sort it out
I hope he gets them in tomorrow and ****ing tells them. I didn’t know it was possible to kick the ball so slowly and I’ve played Sunday League.
Seems well aware of the issues. Pace, creativity, movement in the box, never look like scoring. Also says we need new faces in January Good luck to the lad hope he can sort them out
Because of a mate in the Midlands I know a bit about Sanderson so have always looked out for him. I'd say he's better than 7 or 8 of our team in their positions which is a horrible thought. He's a better defender than anyone we have, more dynamic than most of our midfield and more likely to score than any of our attackers. No wonder Poyet clucked.
As far as I’m aware, the salary cap is gonna be restrictive to bringing in new players unless the current lot are either paid off or are happy to go elsewhere on deals not as good as they’re on here. We’ve been here before being stuck with players who aren’t wanted but won’t go. This is why patience is needed cos unless his LJs coaching and tactics can improve this lot dramatically the. We’ll have to wait for him to be able to bring in the right players to fit his style. I’d be prepared to write off this season if it meant sorting things long term because with decent money behind us now, the club should be able to manage financially without the urgent need for promotion. Let’s hope we don’t need that patience
Thought it was common knowledge that bonuses don’t count towards salary cap so there are ways around it. Or have I got that completely wrong?
Let it all out mate let it all out no joke I agree with you but am old enough to let it not bother me one jot
Funnily enough I'm in a similar position regarding Sanderson. A lad I know from down there tells me he should coast it in this league. God only knows it's not much of a team to break into!
I'm the kinda bloke to back the gaffer until the last 10pc of his tenure. I have backed parky way too long and to me, the players didnt fear or respect parky, and have lacked discipline thru lockdown, they lack fitness...criminal thatbje was also allowed to buy identical tallnslow players in the summer. I give LJ this season and next To get us outta here.
We can blame the management for their lack of fitness, but the players also have a responsibility for this, it’s their job at the end of the day, supposedly professionals, disgraceful.
