Very impressive by Russell , this ( so far ) confirms my worst fears , Bottas”s head has gone . As you all know and some keep on having a go , I really rated him . This year though he has lost his mojo and is lucky to have that contract under his belt ( I have stated this before ). I won’t be commenting anymore until after the last race of the season . Stay safe ( almost ) all of you .
Sorry about my childish rant yesterday . I’m just struggling a bit at the moment ( aren’t we all ) you don’t get rid of me that easily stay safe all .
Bottas looked the fastest driver yesterday to be honest. Was able to watch the whole of FP2 and he looked the most hooked up- he just struggled to get a clean run and had the fastest time deleted. I expect him to be in pole today but take nothing away from Russell- he’s slotted in and delivered two very solid sessions despite apparantly still not finding total comfort in the seat etc. If he can push Bottas close he’s had a good weekend. Very hard to judge though on a 55 second Oval- it would be much more interesting comparison at a more technical circuit, which is usually where Lewis shows his class. Long run pace was dominated by Red Bull, but Mercs were on hard tyre. This evening we will see the messiest qualifying possibly EVER! Imagine Q1, getting a clean lap is going to be so difficult!!
I wonder if the team principles can come to some sort of gentleman's agreement to only have one of their cars on track at any one time? The F2 qualifying was a mess and a lottery.
hopefully my last minute switch from Bottas to Crashappen won't blow up in my face like a 2018 Renault PU
Gotta put good quali laps in early here I feel, with a short and fast layout there's good chance of yellow flags screwing laps, probably even a red, I suspect Ferrari may even try the slipstream method they use at Monza to compensate for their ****, but now legal(?) PU.
