Yeah, soon as he didn’t fly back from holiday you knew what was going to happen. We wanted a big name, we got a passionless ****.
Seriously mate, Koeman, Schneiderlin, Walcott, Sigurdsson. They were all good until they got to you. I'd add Iwobi to that list, he looked a very promising player the few times I saw him play (admittedly in the Europa league). I'm sure there's loads of others, and if I was you I'd be concerned that Ancellotti was succumbing to the same malaise.
We went to a back 4 when Gomes came on for Delph mate. Is Kenny fit? Gordon apparently got a bit big for his boots and cried about not getting enough game time. Not been seen since. Tosun would have gone in the summer if Palace hadn’t broken him. He’s defo off. Bernard I feel sorry for, as when he’s played this season he’s been good imo. But he’s barely getting a sniff. Both will go if we have replacements to come in imo.
think the back 4 suits you much better. James doesn't run enough to receive the ball often enough in the positions that it counts and your players simply aren't good enough to play through midfield when you have a back 3 (so an extra body at the back who isn't contributing in attack). I think with a 4 in the midifield, you have the midfield numbers and runners that someone cannot always be marking james and you just look much better in possession. Obviously you look a bit more open when you go to this as you still have your full backs going up (without the additional cover) and whilst richarlison works hard, on the other side you always have someone who has to cover james. edit: I think bernards a quality little player but i'm guessing carlo doesn't want 2 luxuries on at the same time (him and james) so he's not getting a sniff
No, they were all average. Morgan was out at United. Sig had a team built round him but had failed already at Spurs. Theo was a failed winger/striker who couldn’t score/cross. Iwobi. Well he has talent, but has showed as much at Everton as he did at Arsenal, not a lot. think that’s rounded up nicely.
It's hard to believe Everton have spent around 500 million... They've really pissed most of that away.... The next couple of windows are crucial for them
James is a luxury we can’t carry at the moment. We need a fit and firing Gomes or someone else to hold the ball/Control tempo. Plus the FB we have out are just very good players.
yeah without digne and coleman, you just have zero width and whilst richarlison can make up for it drifting wide left, there is absolutely nothing quality wise on the right hand side
Schneiderlin had the life sucked out of him at United, and is one of the most half arsed ****s I’ve ever seen wear the shirt. Terrible signing. Walcott was past his best and a waste of £20m, Sigurdsson has been a decent player for us, we just massively overpaid. Koeman should have been shot out of a cannon for the absolute ****ing mess, him and that useless **** we took from Lesta as DoF - Walsh, made of our club. Carlo’s signings so far have been sound. He’s had one window, he needs another year to sort out that squad and truly make it his own.
When Peej made his bet with me Everton were flying, now we have two games in hand against West Ham and Burnley and two wins puts us 5 clear of them Something something Macheda though.
Would like to compare PL spending, but so many years out of the league skew things in Newcastle’s favour
