Grant McCann expects that today’s trip to Oxford United will be a tough test for his Hull City side. Despite the U’s being sat just one point outside the relegation places going into the game, the Tigers’ Head Coach is aware of the hosts’ threats and wants his side to be “organised” and “compact” to secure the three points at the Kassam Stadium. “We always try and pick a team that we think is going to be able to go and hurt the opposition. That doesn’t always mean that we keep the same team but you’ve seen on numerous occasions that we’ve changed things tactically this season in midfield or in forward areas to try and win the game, and the upcoming game will be no different. “I firmly believe that Oxford is a really tough place to go. Historically it’s been a tough game and they’re a very good footballing side. They play 4-3-3, they’ve got very good rotation, their full backs are very aggressive and they’ve got a striker who can score goals. They play in a similar style to Ipswich and Doncaster, so we know we have to be organised. We have to make sure we’re defensively good if we’re going to get something from Oxford. “We have to be organised, we have to be together. The compactness of our team has to be really good for us to get a result. Oxford have picked up recently too, they got a point at Ipswich and Portsmouth, so we know it’s going to be a tough game.”
