Useful sort at the level he is at.
    6 goals in 9 games.

We need to increase our awareness of young players who have a good chance of making the grade. Looking at established players is not on our wavelength.
A decent loanee that can make a difference would be nice, but only if the person really wants to come here.

Joking apart, I've often wondered whether a manager who has achieved everything would consider coming to a club like ours as a project and another notch on their belt.

I suppose most of them have done that on the way up.

Warburton suggests QPR will not look to sign striker

QPR boss Mark Warburton has indicated he will not look to bring in a striker during the January transfer window.

Warburton would like to add to his squad and Rangers are hoping to bring in a centre-back

He has repeatedly expressed frustration at his team’s failure to take their chances in games this season.

But Warburton does not believe the answer is to bring in another forward.
Lyndon Dykes and Macauley Bonne were signed during the summer along with Charlie Kelman, who made his R’s debut in this week’s defeat against Bristol City.

Youngster Odi Alfa has also been part of the first-team squad for recent games.

Warburton said: “We’ve got young Charlie Kelman coming through, we’ve got Odi and ‘Macca’ and Lyndon as strikers.

“And the simple fact is that you can’t keep going out and buying players.

“You’ve got to work with what you’ve got and get some training time into them.

“The financial landscape is not allowing teams to go out and just get players. We have to be very prudent.”

Meanwhile, QPR hope Geoff Cameron will be fit to return to the squad for Saturday’s game at Huddersfield

would be nice to see a "Ray Wilkins" type player come in. Someone that has been there, seen it, done it and can influence the team on the pitch and help develop players as he did with SLF. Don't ask names as I have no idea, however we have managed in the past to bring in players (and you can add Shaun Derry and Clint Hill), players that no one else fancies who still have something left in the tank. We seem to ship silly goals when in charge or miss chances to win games more handsomely and maybe this type of player would help shore things up.

Luke Freeman isn't even on the subs bench for Forest today. Maybe get him back for the rest of the season on loan from Sheff Utd.

Let's hope he's a goal scoring CB then......As I recall Dykes and Bonne have only scored 3 goals between them from open play in 15 league games this season. Odi hasn't played yet I dont think, and Kelman's had just a few minutes. It will need to be some extremely effective training time.

Agree 100%. I wouldn't mind Mark Noble, still skippering the Spamsters at 33. Good pro.

    Blimey.
Can't even get into a struggling championship team's squad.

Slightly above our payscale I'm afraid!

I thouht Uncle Albert was supposed to be the "been there, done that" guy who would gee up the team?

Think we're maybe missing what Rangel bought to the club

maybe we are a team that is like a car misfiring and just needs a little tinkering with. I think we have a good squad, and I think that Luke coming back would / could be a good move as he would have something to prove and Noble as well. Troy Deeney who is a marmite player who would add alot to the teanm as he is a player that tells you how it is....whether you agree or not and could be a good leader for a young team.

Interesting suggestions. But don’t think they will fit our financial capability or financial structure anyway. But we do need another good centre back (experienced, with good leadership qualities would be nice) to fill the gap until the end of the season.

Sadly yes, but I’ve still got negatives of him and the nativity donkey, so he could be persuaded to take a cut.

Has Uncle Albert done anything yet?

Albert has looked really poor. Maybe trying too hard?

At this rate, we'll be looking for another coach, let alone more players.

The bloke who played out of his skin for us and got the opportunity to move to the Premier League for a much higher salary rather than continue carrying our team?

Probably not what we need and his wages are well out of our range anyway, but I can’t have him as a “mercenary”.

Agree, the guy played 104 times for us and single handedly won many of those game. Its not happening anyway so the conversation is moot but wouldn't put him in the mercenary bracket.
We are and have to be a selling club, you can't blame the players for that.

Anyway professional footballers are the very definition of mercenary, its literally their job
