It really didn't. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danelaw There were Norse raids and the graves of those raiders have been found but they never settled there like they did in Northern and Eastern England.
hes not going to get an easier run of games to start with. He will be the new Bielsa by the end of the month.
Donald has absolutely nothing to do with any decision. CM still in the mix. Minor. This may or may not continue. Won't be saying why on here though. Would be bad taste.
TBH I've only ever laughed at him, not with him, I never understood why people thought he was hilarious. He says his children are profoundly deaf ... ... I think they're pretending.
Exactly, I wouldn't let Donald or Methven within half a mile of the grandbairns piggy bank. Highly unlikely Donald is going to spend the lolly of the rich men.
Only if we take the grant. Per club it doesn't amount to much. Hopefully we tell them where to stick it and use that to our advantage.
Absolutely right, some people will never be happy but those same people need to give their heads a shake. If the new OWNERS are successful in the way want the club to run, and we should all want them to succeed, then this is the kind of setup we have craved for decades. I for one will support the full team from tea lady through to new owners until they fail to live up to my expectations regarding effort and ambition, something Donald and Co have failed to do. I'm looking forward to more news re plans and appointments and especially confirmation of the takeover. Also can I say thanks for the info and updates from our resident ITK's from here and over the road, it has been very welcome and mostly spot on.
I’m not a big fan of Johnson, but he’s still a championship manager, what ever-way you look at, when he left city, he said he wants another championship job or even prem ( that wouldn’t of happened) so the has be some money behind him to drop down a league
aye he wouldn’t be my choice but he’s a popular fella and does a lot for deaf charities which doesn’t get publicised
He could establish us midtable up there over a couple of seasons though. No chance we're getting consecutive promotions so even if he needs replacing eventually, he's good enough for the next few seasons. And who knows hopefully we're the club where he kicks on himself and becomes a hero. One step at a time though, let's get out of league one first.
@Northumberland Rocks always came across as sound minded to me, I think the problem is that he's picked up the negativity virus from RTG, the R rate on there is 100. 1. One in five have the virus on there.
My thoughts on Johnson were neutral, not blown away with excitement but not gutted. Part of the criticism directed toward him is that he couldnt get get Bristol City over the line and they always fell short. A little delve into their transfers is telling. In each of their seasons under Johnson they made a handsome profit on transfers. In his last season he wasnt given a penny to improve the squad whilst they again paid a profit from sales. There was a pattern of them selling their best players each summer. Difficult to push a team on in the Championship in those circumstances. Made even harder when every years theres 3 teams coming down with parachute payments. It looks pretty much nailed on that Lee Johnson will be the next manager. I've got my head around it now. I'll get behind him and give him a fair crack and ultimately he'll be judged on performances and results.
Its not worth the conditions though. No fees for the next 3 transfer windows. Screw that. If the new owners can afford not to nee way we should take it.
People claiming to know more about Cowley than Johnson is laughable. Unless they have first hand experience of either then they are simply forming an opinion on what they have read in the last 2/3 days. I reckon he might just do ok here. Guess we will see.
