Well, Lee Johnson wouldn't have been my choice for head coach, but if he's the best man that fits into the new structure then I'm right behind him.

Feeling very positive that we are finally moving in the right direction with the sporting director, and soon to be head of recruitment. I think the long term future could and should be pretty good.

Now, it's up to LJ (if hired) to get us playing good football and moving up the table.

Best wishes GG, hope when it's over you get good news on two fronts. The take over is complete, with all the I's dotted and all the T's crossed, and you get told that you're clear of the big C.
Sorry it took so long to reply to GG news, logged on this morning at page 1382 and had to read through until I got to this page. I am 7 hours ahead of UK, so I only get the news from yesterday, then have to read all the way through, including all the doom mongers, in case I've missed anything. this forum is just about the only way I can follow news of the club and team.
Keep up with all the gossip and news, it's greatly appreciated, although 1 or 2 are ignored.
    Thanks and good luck GG.

With Speakman already signed up and Johnson looking likely to become manager, I am wondering why the new owners are taking time over their announcement of the takeover? Not that its a big deal, just wondered.

If it is, they are being a bit presumptuous in making these appointments then

I'm totally guessing btw. But there is no reason KLD should fail the test.

And if they’re making these appointments then I’d like to think that they know the EFL approval will be happening.

Just wonder with the Wigan takeover being rejected yesterday whether the efl were sitting down and looking at potential takevovers and ours has been approved?

I’m completely speculating - but the Wigan takeover was much more urgent and pressing than ours. There is every chance they’ve looked at ours, seen it’s relatively straight forward and said they’ll deal with Wigan first and then onto ours.

The fact they’ve now made a decision on Wigan would suggest it’s on to us from Monday.

    complete speculation like.

If it is LJ to be our new manager I wish him good luck and hope that he is success.

Watched a couple of interviews with him and 1st impressions are that he comes across as articulate, well presented and seems have an understanding of life outside of football and a confidence about him

This will be a refreshing change from the way that PP handled himself.

I think that he will have an understanding of the area and the roots of the club, Bristol in my mind has it roots as a work class city and has never forgotten where it has come from.

My view with attacking options of O'Brien, Grigg, Wyke and to a lesser extent Graham is that we could have employed anyone from Klopp to a bloke managing a Sunday morning pub team, and to achieve promotion this season which is the main criteria in judging how successful he will be is nigh on impossible as our strikers simply do not score enough goals to win enough games.

This no firing strike force is why Jack Ross was sacked and now PP.

So good luck - please find a striker who can score regularly and you will be fine.

I am the first one to say that Grigg should have left the club...he has been an absolute disaster. But...maybe...Johnson just might start to bring out the goalscorer in him, he obviously knows where the net is, just not for us. Here's hoping.

He didnt have to know who the SpD would be, he could have been informed of how it would work, and he didnt like it. TBH I hope he is sitting in 5 years time looking at us and where we are and regretting his decision

I dont even think he knows how to play footy anymore.
Its been 4 years now since he had a song sang about him.
I actually think he's forgotten now how to be a striker looking at some of his misses.
