Was just going to post something similar. During Short’s reign, I was more than happy with the majority of the managers when they signed. Most being recognised names within the game and they failed miserably. Laurie Mac was probably one of the biggest names around at the time we appointed him and look how he turned out. Appointing a manager and letting him run the whole show is one hell of a gamble for a club, really pleased we”re finally putting a real structure in place.
disagree all achieved more than the soon to be incumbent. Still, we have what we have. Same time next year aye?
it seems like for the first time ever I'm seeing joined up thinking at the club and I am so happy about that. H'way the new structure there and let's give Wigan a proper twatting.
My take on todays developments. - delighted to see McGeady back in the squad, we need his creativity badly and he could really turn our season around if he gets back to is best - enjoyed reading Speakman's interview, seems like a very smart guy and its clear that the new ownership want the club to have a clear plan and direction, thats a first for us for many a year LJ - I will be honest he wasnt top of my list but he is an established championship manager and also seems like a very smart manager All in all I'm very pleased that we appear to now be thinking longer term and building the academy which is what many people have been craving for and which is a great plus for us. Its all down to results of course so let's hope we get over the line with 3 points tomorrow and then see what the next week brings. I'm genuinely excited again, another bottle of red just opened.
Looking further down the line if this manager hits the ground running and we secure a few wins I wonder what the first attendance will be when we are allowed back? Been a long long time since I was this confident about my football club.
It's quite strange to have a plan (short, medium and dare I say long), I think some folk are struggling with the new setup.
Eventually someone will crack it and it could be LJ so we should all get behind him until such a time it becomes clear he isn’t doing it. I’m quite optimistic that with the new structure he’ll have as good a chance as he’s had anywhere to show what he can do.
I am sure everyone along with the incoming manager will appreciate your positivity , perhaps you overlooked that this was in the Championship not EFL1 .
