Canny this. Johnson explaining how he set up when he beat Manchester United, with his team having a lot of injuries meaning he played Bailey Wright at right back. Talks a lot of sense. He’s no mug, as some seem to think.
Broken nose is merely an example of a reaction to constant wining and negativity, obviously other ways are used to deal with that kind of behaviour on a forum.
It will be interesting to see how these newcomers deal with the likes of Power, Dobson, Grigg and Graham. Can they improve them or do without them ?
Have to admit to being underwhelmed after the likes of Pearson being mentioned. That said if parky could have us so close to the top with his turgid predictable football then this fella looks a better bet to get us over the line. From what I've read it's exciting football and youth are given a chance. Mind I also read he sticks with favourite players even when underperforming. I'd also be concerned at his habit of trying too many formations and confusing players (most footballers aren't renowned for being the brightest sparks ) That said I'll back him as with every manager that walks through the door and hopefully this new setup and DOF gives us that extra foundation and impetus to catapult us out of this shìthole league.
Again no idea but Phillips incinuated he would be the man for the job. one of those ain’t it, shy bairns get nowt so unless you ask you will never know
You're right it doesn't. But could you see Parky ever trying to actually beat Man U? He barely tried to beat Doncaster or MK Dons! And Johnson then almost caused Man City an upset not long after as well. I'm going to give him a chance. Attacking football with hopefully the right structure behind him. Let's see what happens.
The lad can have an opinion...just because if may differ to yours doesn't make it any more or less valid. Time will tell but to me it is an underwhelming appointment and if we are going down that road then I would have much preferred the Cowley brothers over Johnson.
Thing to do is log off, or don't look, for a few days or a week. More in my case. Do the same on RTG, but end up arguing whenever I return. Lot of good people on both boards, and I know quite a few personally. They tend not to post much as it happens. The ones who post on this board every day are clearly invested and I respect that, so leave them to it, but cliques can emerge. Reflection of life really.
......and then others would be underwhelmed at the cowleys. Regardless of who it is, it's the new manager. People perform better in a positive atmosphere as opposed to a negative one. The more that get behind it, the better the chance of success.
Having watched the Speakman interview it is clear we are all of a sudden a very different football club. Professional, forward thinking, vision and clarity or purpose. It may not happen overnight but I would bet we are a much better club in the years to come. I am looking forward to the journey.
I don't subscribe to the fan forum conjecture, I would rather deal with the facts. Speakman is here now and he is in the process of selecting a new Head Coach and Head of Recruitment and I reckon we need to get behind him and see how it works out in the future
