@SkySports_Keith Sunderland are in advanced talks with Lee Johnson to become their new Head Coach. Johnson has been in the North East for face-to-face talks with #SAFC hierarchy. Sunderland hope to announce the appointment tomorrow...or possibly even tonight #SAFC
Another thing - people were raving about Bristol City "punching above their weight" when they were flying. He now has a chance to replicate this with a bigger club Bring it on - if it turns out wrong we will reboot and try again - that's football I also wonder how many of the fans who are on the bridge at the moment were around when Dennis Smith was appointed - now he had a better squad to work with but was a lower league manager but look how he revived us - can you imagine the furore at signing John McPhail and look how well he performed for us (even if his shorts were far too tight)
I used to like Hazel Irvine (as a friend) but the new snooker presenter isn't half bad. Decent pair of Salmas.
Judging by the reaction the takeover must have collapsed in the last few days because everyone was fine with the idea tuesday until poyet decided he wasn’t going to have enough control. Now because its someone else it must mean theres no takeover
Here's a question. If Rodwell, Methven and Donald are pulling the strings - why did they wait 8 months (at least, can't remember) to replace the Academy Director? And overhaul their entire footballing structure? If they were pulling the strings this would have happened before. not now. somebody else is pulling the strings. they may still be involved with those strings, but somebody else is pointing them in the right direction
Time will tell. We are all Sunderland supporters who want to see the club doing well . Yeah we are having a restructure and fingers crossed it works well but lets be clear about 1 thing. Billionaires who are ambitious and mean business wouldn’t even look at Johnson regardless of what league we are in. Very worried not much has changed in terms of ambition with rodwell still big decision maker at club. People might try and put a more positive spin on things but sadly thats the truth. Very naive to think otherwise.
I am away to see if I can get a leg owa, I foresee lots of knicker pissing in the next couple of hours.
We have a structure with people in positions who are very highly regarded in football Let that sink in for a minute
