I'd Donny had the same amount of shots, corners etc and we had lost 2-1 the HDM and some on here would have been on about how City were lucky to avoid a heavier defeat after getting a right battering
The HDM have proved many times over the years that they don't like Hull City, Hull City Council and the local BBC.
But they’re both true, I don’t understand what your gripe is? We had 25 shots on goal and 2 went in. So an 8% conversion rate. That’s not that good. Yes, you can be glass half full and it’s nice to get praise from non-local outlets, but you also need realism. We’ve bemoaned the lack of finishing on more than one occasion this season, plenty on here have pointed it out, but the HDM does it and suddenly they’re targeted for it? Why? Why can’t they be realistic? It doesn’t constantly have to be super happy winning time in every headline. Can people not take a dose of reality anymore? Is it that annoying when constructive criticism is presented? If it was unwarranted, you’d have a case, but it’s a very good point. Yes, the keeper had a decent game, but he wasn’t brilliant. Both the goals he conceded were poor from his point of view and his command of his box was mediocre at best. We were on top, we didn’t kill it off while we were (a recurring theme) and they then punched us in the gut. We deserved to win but it came with a huge slice of luck.
What would fergie have done if that was the headline in the Manchester paper?? the reporter wouldn’t get in old Trafford again and the editor would be grovelling to him.
That's when the club, media, fans, local population are all pulling in the same direction. We have the Allams pissing off every man and his dog.
Being sat top of the league should be applauded especially after last seasons car crash. We might not be perfect but you gotta give the club massive kudos for everything achieved on the pitch so far. Having said it’s pretty obvious you don’t have to be a fantastic side to get out of this league but so far we seem hell bent on doing exactly that.
Still the luckiest team in the land then....how many more times are we going to be "lucky" before certain people just accept we are good and get what we deserve! ( I'm guessing the same people would be much quicker to brand us rubbish as opposed to unlucky )
What’s that got to do with the press? They should be backing the team but they don’t and never have done fully Always looking to do us down
Would he? Would he even have cared what a local paper was saying? Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, I doubt he gave two ****s about what a local reporter thought about how they were doing. Under Fergie, United played well and their results reflected that. We aren't playing at our fullest, but we are winning. That's all the HDM are pointing out, it's not as though they're saying we're doing crap, because we aren't. We just aren't playing as well as we could be.
The club should be pro active in forging good links with the local rather than banning their reporters from the stadium. The same applies for the council, local businesses, local sporting clubs, and last but not least (unless you're talking to the Allams) the fans. It's so easy to piss off those around you but so much harder to get them on your side when you need them.
Red hot Josh Magennis, Greg Docherty delights, key month ahead - Hull City talking points The Tigers saw off Doncaster Rovers comfortably at the KCOM Stadium. That was another headline from today. You can't claim the HDM are always negative, they aren't. It's just that as soon as they aren't overwhelmingly positive, people get itchy about it.
FC got praise in the HDM for getting through to the finals, which was achieved despite their bottom half finish in a small league, because another team pulled out.
We won because their keeper dropped the ball. If he hadn't, it's highly unlikely we'd have got anything more than a point. And had it been a point and not a win after such a dominant performance, there'd be a lot more frustrated people. Funny how winning papers over the cracks for some. It's nice to win, but it doesn't erase mistakes or underwhelming performances (not that yesterday was, but it wasn't our best).
And another who clearly doesn’t get it Nothing to do with the allams this The mail can’t wait to put a negative slant on city
