Maybe I used the wrong word, I'm not bothered about a wow name. I'm bothered about appointing someone who will wow me, I want someone who will push us forward with an identity, get the team playing some football and get us out of this league. LJ is not it!

We certainly can't afford to buy the Rodwells,Alvares etc which heavily contributed to the decline. I just wish the Academy had not been as decimated and we had a number of youngsters to push through (I accept there are a couple at the moment). Spending needs to be clever and not a "blunderbus" approach

Surely almost anyone will be an improvement on Parky, I remember Bristol City played us off the park at the SOL a few year back, were 3-0 up at Ashton gate, when we made the comeback and equalised late on. Plenty Yokels saying good things about Johnson. Everyone wants a rocket start with whoever comes in, unfortunately this is the third division with arguably the worst squad in club history.

I must have heard the same as you in terms of them still being very keen as of last week. But to be fair we've all said for ages that the club was regressing and we really needed them to **** or get off the pot. One leak from them about wanting to buy the club and the fans would have massively ramped up the pressure on Donald. Instead they've sat and sat. Not sure if they just hoped Donald would run out of money and they'd pick us up for a song, but it was always likely that someone else would want to buy the club given the potential.

If they've waited too long then they've only got themselves to blame and its ****ing annoying. It sounds like they had massive plans for the club, seems daft to have let it get away because they thought they could get it by default when that was never really likely

Names don’t fuss me, it’s ability and Johnson hasn’t proven to have any

I’ll take the “hipster brother PE teachers” as well but would rather people stopped referring to them like they’re vastly unqualified to manage a top league one side. We need to back them instead of being upset they’re not a tad more famous.

not aimed at you this - just getting annoyed at people writing off less famous names because they had Poyet or Big Sam on their Christmas list and are now spitting their dummy out that Father Christmas hasn’t brought them what they wanted.

Have you registered just to say this ?!
Think you need to get a life whoever you are.

If you had been reading properly you would know smugs never told everyone furhman was taking over, he said they still had an investment and that was still a reason to believe they were still interested. But you just make want ya want up to suit ya petty vindictiveness

What is it with the constant whinging from some fans, if they appt johnson then get behind him. We are a league 1 club we aren't going to get the a big name manager. Most seemed happy with piyet there is nothing to say he will do any better than other names mentioned

I know nothing about Johnson, nothing about the Cowley's and next to nothing about most of the managers from the Championship downwards. But, whoever does come in, I'll take them on face value when I see their 1st interview.

I'll give them a chance and I'll back them to the hilt until they prove my faith in them isn't warranted. We expect the leaders of our clubs to make decisions, and let's be honest in most cases they've got access to far more info and contacts than we have. People are paid to make decisions, let's see who is put in as manager and give them a chance.

Of course if it's Howard (nettle sting) Wilkinson, he can F*** off.

I reckon there’s more than one. How about - my daughter was taken hold of by three Sunderland fans at a bus stop in Oxford during lockdown but we had a laugh about it when they brought her to my front door.

I’ll just reiterate a point that may have got lost in my senseless ranting just now. And I’m not being negative, but I think people would do well to temper their expectations.

Pompey have been owned by a billionaire since 2017 and done nowt. He’s nowhere near as rich as KLD. But my point is being a billionaire doesn’t mean you have to splash the cash. Interviews have said KLD will take things slowly and sustainably.

We can all hope and dream for some big names and it would be awesome if it happens, but there’s a risk too many fans have started expecting we are the next city here, when that’s still a thousand to one shot.

I re-watched STID putting emphasis on the cringeworthiness of Donald, managed two episodes, had to watch the rest curled up in a ball from a dark corner, such was the level of cringe from Donald.

Obviously we all have our own views on the managerial situation but in reality we shouldn’t even need a fantastic manager to get out of this terrible division. A half decent one should at least be able to get us up through play offs

I'll be honest, I'll sound like an entitled arsehole but I am actually a bit bothered about appointing a wow name. Just so ****ing sick of our club being a laughing stock, I want something to happen that will make people take us seriously again and, more importantly, will give me confidence that its all going to change.

When Keane came in it was class, we'd been through the **** but that instant we knew the new owners were going to be different, were going to raise standards, it just gave the whole place a boost. A takeover where some of the failed people stay (one with the joint highest shares) and just with the positive of "they're putting a structure in place" isn't exactly the same. Lots of clubs have a structure and still do ****e!

The thing for me is I'd feel a lot more confident if we got a manager who I'm sure wouldn't have applied without the takeover, because they must be very confident that the plans in place give us a cracking chance of getting back to the top flight. Had there been no takeover but we'd sacked Parkinson, would poyet be interested? I'd think almost certainly not. But cowley and Johnson? Aye, they'd have applied straight away.
