Walker is in the England squad though? I havent seen as much of him as I have Kelly but he looks a top right back. Lucas isn't as good as parker, parker was pfa player of the year last year and has started really well this year, I wish we'd signed him. Lucas is a DM who cant tackle, he's improved but in my opinion he still isnt that great. I'm not a wum I'm just honest and highlighting the fact our first choice 11 still needs alot of improvement.
I think the race for fourth could be decided in the january transfer window. If Liverpool can bring in some more quality squad or 1st team players i think we will be fourth or higher. I dont think spurs will sign anybody in jan unless they sell modric, but if liverpool dont make any signings then i spurs could edge us for 4th. I expect Manu, city and chelsea will all make some big signings in the Jan transfer window which may make breaking the top 3 difficult for anybody else.
I don't really expect that much movement in january. simply because players who are good are CL cup tied. there ae a few if secanrios your point does raise though. 1. what happens IF modric starts the move thing again, or indeed VDV. much depends on where they are placed in the league, which of course is down to how well both we and they do. IF modric tries again for a move it could destabilise them much as torres tried with us. 2. What happens if suarez has the temerity to dare to score against chelsea? will they make a 70mil bid for him in january 3. serious point is chelsea will look for someone and tevez is available so those two moves are the key ones i feel. 4. Who will be available in january bar gary cahill? Will psurs go for him as he's on the cheap? will we? who else is there that'd be willing to move in january and is good enough to get into our side... or theirs?
I think Kenny should be looking at a few more players in January as I feel were are a bit short in some areas. Right winger is a must I feel, and some more creativity and pace (not 'Theo Walcott' fast, but someone who can dribble with the ball like Downing and Suarez at good speed). We should be doing all we can to get back into the Champions League because it will enable us to bring in real quality in the summer.
Surely Kenny does not need even more money to get fourth place? Look at AW, he does it year in, year out, on a quarter of KK's budget
I think we will bring in some players, i agree with lfc-009 we need a right winger to cover kuyt and IMO we need a fourth striker to compete in the top 4. I dont see how being CL tied effects us as we are not in any european competition, we just need to get players interrested in the new LFC poject. If we want to compete in the coming seasons we got to maintain our tranfer activity to catch up on the ground lost to the top 3. Obviously creating a balanced team with KK own style is part of that and i think KK is capable of constantly improving the team wilst maintaining that balence, something that perhaps let Benitez down a bit. IMO the top 3 will make signings in Jan, i think a striker for city to replace tevez, a central midfielder for united to protect there back4 a little more in the bigger games and a midfielder and striker for cheslea.
