As far as I'm concerned you can say what you want on your own board and if opposition fans get offended then it's their problem. If you show some respect and have an interesting point of view when visiting another board then you'll find that you're well accepted. In HIAG's case I suspect that he's almost always posting negatively about other teams and comes back to gloat when they lose. Correct me if I'm wrong, HIAG.

 

People like Holte ruined old606 for me. Looking back on it, it might seem kind of funny but I think it's easy to forget what a pest he was and how the barrage of wums everytime we lost would make me think that it's just not worth logging on and trying to chat with Spurs fans as it always got hijacked.

I can respect that opinion, but to be fair though, we do have the ignore facility. There's always a way to wum back, but thats me. Also, not many threads are infested here in comparison imo, there weren't many, not hijacked on old beeb, maybe its the numbers thing I don't know.

Not sure how you feel about some other teams Mod coming here barking orders, just because his team is taking relentless, unprecedented stick. Arsenal are the new Spammers and they should deal with it now to save all future grief.

 

Don't get me wrong, I can hand out the apple wumble. Trouble is I don't particularly enjoy it and it gets boring very quickly, as is the nature of wums.

I use the ignore thingy a fair bit, although most of them have now been banned from our board but it is a useful stop gap for when I tire of them.

As for Piskie, he's perfectly welcome to defend his decision in a thread that's all about him, whether you agree or not. Besides as we've all said, it's kind of hard for us to know whether HIAG is baiting them all day as we don't really know what goes on, on their board. Although I've heard they even have a sheep shagger as a mod!

In answer to the question, who do these people think they are, the answer is simple, moderators. Mods on this forum are just fans doing their best and always take the stick, they cant take a joke, touchy but is it Piksy?

Piksy is there to try and keep the board calm and in some order. Right now Arsenal are not having the best of times. It would be a very strange world if Spurs fans did not take some pleasure in that, it would also be a strange world if Arsenal fans did not feel very raw, I'm a Sunderland fan so know all about raw.

Its all about timing, this is a time for a little wuming yes but also a little understanding because my role is to make the forum as attractive as possible for the majority, right now Arsenal fans are looking for a place to share ther anger and sorrow, not to have the piss taken out of them, protest all you like but I know you understand that.

I have blocked you from the Arsenal board, thats me, not Piksy so let your outrage flow my way, I can hear now the outrage, freedom of speach, getting worse than BBC, power mad mods, heard it all before and its all bollocks.

Arsenal are currently going through the worst start they've ever had to a Premiership campaign. They don't want the piss taken out of them and thats understandable. The Arsenal mods are doing the best they can to avoid any additional aggro and, IMO, I'd want our mods to do the same.

Having said that, I remember the weeks of abuse we got from the 2 points in 8 games thing and not a single Spurs' fan ran off to the mods. They manned up and gave as good as they were given (or ignored it, as I did).

I know that was on the old beeb and this is new606, but for this reason alone, I can see why some people might do the whole "freedom of speech, getting worse than BBC, power mad mods" thing.

We're all (or should be all) grown ups here. Posters shouldn't be grassing everyone up, the mods should be allowed to make the decision themselves as to whether or not to close a thread/ban etc, not be swayed by whiny children.
Surely, the mods' jobs should be keeping the boards clean and attempting to diffuse uneasy situations, not playing the role of mummy?

 

And that's exactly what we tried to do with HIAG.

PNP will be aware that we sent him numerous polite PM's asking for him to tone it down a bit.
We were trying to diffuse the situation, as our fans were spitting feathers and demanding that he was banned.

HIAG responded to our first PM's buy throwing his toys out of the pram and plastering them all over a thread to whip up a frenzy.
So we then politely asked him again and he got upset and said that he didn't want to post on our 'small minded board' anyway,
Not able to stick to that, he decided to continue the wumming,
So I sent another and he then agreed to tone it down.
and yet it still continued.

That's what I consider to be 'taking the piss'

And I'm sure that if it was a Gooner doing it on your board, you'd expect PNP to do the same.

 

Hoddle is a very subtle WUM. His original post in here incorrectly leads you to believe that this is a one-time occurence but he is always shoving his oar into Arsenal threads when it really isn't needed. He completely takes advantage of the the split in our board, between people who want Wenger out and people who want him to stay, and uses it to rub people up the wrong way.
It's so monotonous seeing another poorly crafted opposition fan article saying the same, 'when will Wenger realise his experiment has failed' or 'the powershift has started' thread. Don't you think we've read this kindof tripe a thousand times? We know what's happening to our club, we don't need painfully-veiled wind-up attempts every hour of the day. If you were coming up with anything different or original, maybe your posts wouldn't be deleted.

I even spelled this out to HIAG in several PM's
Rivalry and Banter are part of the game.
I wouldn't expect anything different.

But it was HIAG's promises to work with us for the sake of the board
whilst all the time knowing that he had no intention to
which was considered to be taking the piss.

We asked, asked again and then one more time.
In the end, HIAG decided that he wanted to make a problem out of it.
and left us with no choice.
