I said it yesterday so totally a repeat of it but THE most important thing in all this has to be the sporting director role and who it is going to be. I would love to see Stefan Schwarz given the role as I do think he is ideally suited to it with his knowledge of the game and of Sunderland as well as the number of languages he speaks for potential overseas signings etc. This role needs to be filled quickly and ideally before the managers role in my opinion. I am dissapointed about Poyet as it does open the question of what changed in the few hours yesterday but if the takeover is still on course then today has to be the day for some news on the sporting director front. I think if they can get that apointment in first it will show a plan and a vision for the fututre, the sporting director has to be here for the long term to put a stamp on the club and will go through potentially 3,4,5 managers in his time at the club. He needs to want to be here for 10 years plus and put a prefessional and progressive attitude to the club from top to bottom. The manager is a side note really but yesterdays news did cast a shadow on the club last night and I do think that showed on the pitch as well. There is no roadmap at the club at the minute and the players must feel a like of direction too even though they played terribly last night and must take a share of the blame for the performance. In terms of a new manager it has to be someone willing to work with the sporting director and who knows that situation and is prepared to work within it. I did go on youtube last night and watched a few videos of the cowleys and especially one of them training at Huddesfield mic'ed up. Its a bit sunday league but its proper coaching from both of them and it might just be what we need at the minute and also another one of I know Soccer am of a shooting drill with Bullard and Jimmy is blowing out his arse at the end and said it is tough. Now you watch that and I am sure our strikers practice shooting but get them all doing that all day and good things might just happen. Sorry for the long ramble but I am trying to get some confidence back in the club in my own head after yesterday taking the wind out of the sails. FFS Sunderland lets have some good news this week eh and round it off with 3 points on Saturday, will look a bit brighter then.

Yes mate. I usually post what I want the team to be and hes pm'd me a good half dozen times this season, sometimes the night before with "here's the team". Hes not been wrong yet. No idea who is he personally or how he gets his info
Dunno know, the lad who told me to lump money on has gone a bit quiet. He did say there'll be news today but not to do with the managers job.
I have done all that before and the tick is not showing in that box when i check but i still continue to get email alerts from this thread everytime there is a new post. Does my head in lol
Fair enough. I suppose, if it was a big enough issue to walk away, it's not just going to get resolved Oh well. Danny Cowley then :-|
Do you remember the 8-0 and the lack of defending towards the end? Poyet does not have borini and other stars to produce something from nothing and a terrible keeper. Playing from back would be a disaster. Cowley army for me, as bad as that sounds. As long as Schwarz signs, but that could be way off the ark as well. Chinese whispers n that.
People need to just calm down and wait and see. The majority of people wetting the bed now that Poyet has turned us down would be the same people moaning on Sunday after Poyet lost his first game
One of the positives about Big Sam is that he'd adapt the style that his team plays to fit the current players whilst building the team to suit his preferred approach - if the Cowley brothers do the same I'd take that.
