We are an absolute mess on and off the pitch. Any new manager and owners are going to have their hands tied with this salary cap in league 1

The likes of Danny Graham should never ever play for our club again absolutely fecking shocking.

Soul destroying being a safc fan at the minute

Blame Graham but also blame the non existant service he's not the only player i want out of this club there's about 6 to start with after that shambles, you would have thought after the Mansfield defeat at least they would have put the effort in but no, they are a disgrace and just keep out of supermarkets etc they don't give a **** in my opinion. 2 shots on goal i believe.

We all know they are low on ability but now they look low on confidence which isn't a good combination

Another season in League One was as near a certainty as could be had anywhere when we started this one without a proper forward.

I might have missed it, but I know of no team, in any league, at any level, who can prosper without at least one, and usually two, forwards who can score a decent amount of goals.

We have a tree, who at least has scored a few, a bloke who looks like he might have been an ordinary player about ten years ago and a frightened rabbit as our forward power.

We are going nowhere until that is solved.

Said it a few times but under 21s don't count towards the salary cap, we could get some great players in and transform the team if the owners mean business.

That's what I'd do if I was them. Get some decent money spent, build a foundation and hire a manager who will develop youth and play an attacking style. These are all attainable things and would see us go up.

If you were a really talented under 21, why would you sign for us though? We're not exactly a great draw, and it pains me to say that, and we've only developed a handful of young uns to go onto be first team players, so no real history of achieving that. You're going to be looking at players who are in Prem and Champo academies and asking them to drop down a level or two so what, apart from first team football, can you offer to attract them?

I agree with what you're saying like, just fail to see how it can be implemented as easy as you say.

I get what you mean, when I say great under 21s I don't mean in a general sense I mean for league one/lower to mid championship level which I feel would be doable given enough money and the right connections.

It does depend, if we hire some ****er and there's no clear plan or money to spend it won't happen.

Not saying it won’t be a challenge but no point having that outlook, got to hope a new manager comes in, gets something from the squad to keep us in the chase and can sign a couple of players come January.
Serious question for those who say we definitely aren’t going up, will you continue to watch games or do you just avoid now until next season? I can’t see us getting relegated, so don’t need to watch for the relegation scrap, on the 1st of December what’s left for you this season?

The under 21 route may be the only one available to us. Upwards of 15 of our first team contracts expire in June, including Denver Hume. They will have to be replaced fully within the constraints of the salary cap. - And Bailey Wright already has a decent chunk of that. We will no longer benefit from that existing contract as an avg league_1 wage loophole very much.

The manager appointment is crucial when it comes to being able to attract players imo. I have no bother with a player coming to play for our manager, rather than us. Like Rodriquez at Everton with Ancellotti, I really don't think he'd be playing there without that gaffa. I think we need similar, a high profile appointment that has a good reputation already in the footy world. Cooke, Cowley and the like just don't give us that imo and certainly isn't enough to help us attracting the type of players I think you rightly identify that we should be going for.

I wouldn't say we're deffo not going up yet, after all we're only 5 points off second place. But we do need to be getting the points per game improved and need to do it quickly. If we don't get that sorted by Christmas, then I'd say we're not going up. At that point, I'd probably find something else to do on a Saturday as this is just too depressing to put up with for me.

Promotion payments are excluded, so could pay someone avg salary but offer a million quid promotion bonus payment, same for cup competitions. Severance payments don’t count so we could pay off some of the deadwood to free up space. Last options are to ignore it, up to 5% over is financial consequences but over that get referred to some panel, not sure if they could enforce any sanctions if legally challenged.

I think that's why I'm feeling gutted about Gus not coming and more pragmatic choices being mentioned, I reckon you're right that in order for us to get the players we need we could do with a charismatic high profile manager. League one football is bloody awful.

It's worse than that imo. I think whats burning me up so bad is we've been mainly awful yet are only 5 points off an automatic promotion place. Get the right gaffer in who can galvanise the players and get them playing semi decent footy and we'd piss this league, as well as giving us supporters something to get excited about. I thought getting rid of Ross was the correct decision but the appointment of Parky was ****e. We really can't afford to make that mistake again.

we would have pissed this league with Maja and McGeady but no get them out, this must be a conspiracy somewhere, then Graham ( are you reading this ) is re signed are these owners taking the piss or what, Gibson next ? short should have sold us when Sam kept us up this is a warning to any would be owners, them lazy gets yesterday should be flogged for that gutless performance. and for the " we are only 5 points of 2nd place lark" is **** they will always blow it when they get the chance no matter how many games in hand we have, without the premier money this season will get closed down anyway because this new owner story is bullshit anyway.
