I've no problem with being wrong, I said FPP had bought the club and have happily apologised for how wrong I was. Nevertheless I was totally scrambled by the Poyet announcement earlier. I asked the lad who'd told me who knew I, and a fair few mates, had lumped money on. He says James Hunter, and a few others, will leak out a few details but he told me what he believe happened. In a nutshell Poyet made it known he has unfinished business and would come back so agreed a 3.5 year deal. On the strength of that Parkinson was released whereupon Poyet started to leak info, backed the club into a corner and move the goal posts. He expected the club to cave but they called his bluff and it fell apart. The lad who's told me says it's on my neck if there are any litigious comebacks but, seriously, WTF .... ... if Poyet is really that devious I'd rather have Kevin Ball.
It’s disappointing if Poyet has turned us down but no one is bigger than the club and we will turn our attention to our other targets. What’s more disappointing is the number of new or absent members who have been nowhere near the forum when things appeared rosy but feel the need gloat at the first sign of problems. It’s almost as though they are desperate for bad news about the club. We even had a contributor to WMS calling a Sunderland supporter an idiot because they disagreed on a fans forum ffs, Methven was pilloried for disparaging remarks about our supporters. The ITK’s on here have been fairly accurate with their information and cannot be held responsible for last minute changes or if the truth slightly differs from what they heard, I thank them all for their input. This forum has always been temperate and friendly but some of the personal attacks on this thread are shameful and akin to those on other Social Media outlets Haway the Lads
The most frustrating thing for me is that I started to see our fans become a bit more "together" at the news, and it feels like it's going to be even worse than it was before now its fallen through. I really hope in the next 24/48 hours that something happens to allow the fans to come together as a majority and get excited, the way they seemed to today.
Christ theres some sad, petty ****s getting on this thread/forum. As for the new manager, there's so many random toys being slung its a bit of a joke. Give the new owners a chance/time to get this decision right. Gus has barely held onto any job he's had and he ultimately bottled it wth us so why would he have been the answer? If Gus also tried to pull a fast one, he can just **** off.
I love fans with crystal balls who wins the prem this year so I can put some money on , you don’t know thought not. Tit.
The shackles are off with no Parky and we play 5 4 1 with Power and Wyke. The worst team I've seen in my 30 years of supporting these.
