it's a standard amicable way of parting. He can't say he doesn't want to work with a DoF / SD for obvious reasons, and we can't say it because we don't currently have a DoF / SD
Exactly. The lads @Prehab26 and @Magnus have been given the info that he’s been talking to the club and offered a deal but whoever told them he’d signed has jumped the gun a bit. Does seem strange though that he has talks and then says “ what, you’re in league 1? Oh wait a minute I don’t think it’s right for me just now” we’ll never know what actually went on so let’s move on to the next candidate.
We're being taken over, appointing a new manager and have a league match in a few hours ... ... yet a lifelong supporters first thought is to attack fellow supporters. It's pathetic.
Why are we looking to appoint a manager before announcing the takeover. All seems a bit off to me like. Something not adding up.
Two positives out of this. 1. At least he has came out straight away stating he basically can't be arsed. 2. No conspiracy theories about how its Donalds fault etc. We move on..... again.
Don't understand why people are writing them off . We have tried top managers who have ultimately failed .Granted some weren't always given the right backing, but success at a club isn't tied to past achievements. Reid and Keane were our best times and both were a gamble at the time.
But why would he be bothered if he wasn’t offered those jobs if he didn’t like working with DoF? If his 2 years of unemployment turns into 4 years he might reconsider his thoughts on working with one then.
FWIW I'm not entirely sure I can blame Poyet for not wanting to work under a SD / DoF again. It burnt him massively last time. C'est la vie. We'll find somebody who wants to.
For all of this though Poyet is still odds on at Sky bet (8/11), Cowley (2/1), Cook (4/1) Stendel (20/1). Maybe it s play by Poyet to get a bit more control or better terms as if it is someone else in the frame there is money to be made.
