    It would be a gamble. But it would also show that the new owners aren't happy just to pick from the usual pool of under-achievers who just get jobs on the back of being a well known name.

    I don't think there's any reason for panic, I think there's clearly been advanced discussions, they've offered a 3.5 year deal, he was 1st choice, was thinking it over, were 'confident' he would sign then he's decided its not for him.

    Choose to take it that way if you want, I'm more than reasonable. Just really don't appreciate, like many others, being talked down to or at because of some weird superiority complex that you have if anyone dares challenge or disagree with something you've posted, whether in good faith or not.

    Rodwell is Chief Executive of the football club. There is zero chance he's not involved in the appointment of the manager. That doesn't necesarilly mean it's his choice as the loudest voice.
