Whether true or not I dont know but was told it was between Cowley with a DOF above or Poyet without one. The directors really believe in the DOF model but want Poyet so are torn.

I'd hope the new regime has better ideas than relying on a mate of JS to take over.

I'd have thought poyet was well used to the DoF model to be fair. He strikes me more of the coach type who would be happy with it, would be strange if he was insistent that he wouldn't work with one

Hope the other key appointments won’t hold up Jan transfer activity. Especially if a new DOF doesn’t arrive until after the window has opened.

Of course it's natural to be cynical given the ****e we've had to put up with in recent years. Fans are allowed to be rightly concerned. It sounds great all of the information the ITK's are providing but it was the same last time. Best to treat with scepticism.

Exactly my reply! My hope is that it is Schwarz coming in as DOF and Poyet changes his mind

So then, back to @Prehab26 and @Wheatsheaf little comments on who knows names on poss manager or sorting director. Any names been given on either and any heads up as to who

And maybe a bit positivity on here, no one knows really the Craic untill it's done, every one has pros and cons and fave people for the job, why don't we enjoy being linked with these people instead of the likes of parky and look forward to the announcement ahead this week.

Remember all past few managers have had a **** ride with either no money, or **** dof. Rodwell not saying he has done a good or bad job but look at how many staff he has to help him and work with. Let's just enjoy look forward to the news and enjoy and try be positive and get behind them.

And cheers the ITKs for keeping us well informed

From the outside looking in, that's not messing about and not about pushing a brand - you just retweet if that's what your overall aim is. It just comes across like you're all jumping in sniggering away at it, in quite a pathetic manner. If you go through all the people's tweets who's joined in, would you find more 'agree' comments on none relevant things too? There's obviously beef between the two fanzines and it's odd. Both of you smoozed up to the owners - I'm sure you did lots of interviews with Methven and enjoyed the access as much as RR did. It's probably time both grow up and stop acting like children on social media.

I'm not dragging you into anything. I was agreeing that Santo and Bielsa have been good appointments. Both have a high profile, good reputations and well known in the game with a number of good contacts. That's the kind of appointment I think we should be looking at imo, setting the bar high and then aiming for it. I mentioned the Cowleys as a contrast to that as they don't achieve any of that. I'd hoy the likes of Cook in there with them pair an all.

Even when we were in the Prem we struggled to attract players and ended up paying over the odds in a lot of cases. I think you get round this problem a bit by having a manager that a player wants to play for. Good example is Ancelloti at Everton as I don't think Rodriguez would be there if he wasn't.

As for slagging off other members, I just said it was small time to think these would be a suitable appointment. I certainly never called anyone an idiot for having a different view now, did I. I did have a read on the Huddersfield board when he was mentioned to see what they thought of him though before I decided they weren't what was needed. Here's one that stuck out to me.

    ....but secondly... The Cowleys?

Did a reasonable / good job turning the club around after the Siewert disaster.... but.....

How many players did they improve?

Did they play ANYTHING like attractive football? The likes of Barnsley away first half, Wigan and Luton were as bad as you'll ever see.

It's very very early days for Carlos.....

...but the early signs are very positive.....

Much more attractive, good signings and some players we'd basically ignored are looking MUCH better (Hamer, Koroma, Mbenza, and even Pritchard / Campbell).

Perhaps just perhaps Phil has in fact made a brilliant decision getting rid of the Cowleys and appointing Carlos.

    https://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/114662/cowley-back-work

There's a lot of goodwill towards them for keeping them up but there are a fair few complaints about the football being ****e an all.

You’ve got the wrong end of the stick completely. But, if that’s what you think then fine.

In terms of speaking with Methven, I think we did one pod with him and another little bit. Met him a couple of times to chat about some other things. We never really communicated with him. I don’t have any of his contact information and never have.

I’d love our more recent failures to have slumped to a 60% win rate like Poyet achieved after leaving us. Whatever people think of him and whoever their choice for the job would be, you can’t say that win rate is a failure surely?

It's natural to be cautious but some members of WMS aren't being cautious they're accusing the new set up as being a sham which is secretly controlled by methven and Donald, I mean we all enjoy a conspiracy theory but this would be a new level all together.

Not Donald, but Methven will have a controlling voice. We’re not the only ones saying this.

It’s not outlandish that someone with a stake in the club, who was the most dominant force at the club previously (and he’s still involved), will still be involved in a similar capacity. His level of investment has not changed. He’ll still have the same percentile.

I think we’re generally United across the fan base in wanting him to piss off which can only be a good thing.

You say that, but I was interested to see if 'agree' popped up more often and by my surprise, it actually crops up a lot with you guys in responses that come across in a seemingly sarcastic nature. So I will take the belief that I haven't got the wrong end of the stick and you use this agree comment attack, or whatever it is, to go have a laugh or subliminally take the piss out of someone/people. Comes across pretty pety and embarrassing really.

Would I find the same thing to showcase that you were actually in Donald & Methven's pocket if I did a deep search in WMS posts from a year or so ago too?
