It may not be all Abduls fault though EJK. The problem could be:
    • A lack of investment
    • He could have lost the dressing room and players use the stairs in protest
    • Supporter’s expectations are far too high
    • Sunderland fans find any excuse to hate every lift technician, owner and manager
    • Sunderland fans can’t think for themselves and just read the drivel on the message boards and don’t appreciate the job and hard graft that Abdul has done
    • Sunderland fans just want Abdul to “get the cheque book out man” and run up the debt but, childlike, refuse to take any responsibility
    • You would need to be a lobotomised monkey not to understand that when the government changes the economic circumstances every week, it has an impact on Abduls decisions
    • Visitors to the AOL could see the lifts as an incentive to raise their game and expect much more from them
    • People in the North East are ignorant to the intricacies of business
Out of interest how do you believe the toxic fans think about the lift situation now?

(Apologies to anyone who hasn't yet read the texts <laugh>)

I dont agree he was brilliant. They had the new manager bounce when he arrived but were falling away badly and he got sacked. They got relegated with a side that should never have got relegated. You have to ask yourself why they sacked him so close to end of season. I think hes a loose cannon, we would be better off not going near him

To me, this supports what the evidence seems to have been pointing to. The Northern Echo are suggesting its Poyet so I'm not thinking any further than him now. Quite happy with him. Think he'd work well with a DoF/Sporting Director.

I believe that Abdul is just trying to elevate his position and is just pushing everybody's buttons whilst trying to get to the top but he should be careful as we know that doors aro always opening and closing at Sunderland.

That’s what we need. An identity a style of play and ethos throughout the club. Personally I would like to see Gus in. DOF role supporting a young manager. We will have some dips along the way and the last thing I would want would be Poyet getting sacked this time next year and having to start again I think he should be given a long term role to build the club from top to bottom

As Smug has said, I reckon it’ll be Poyet. I missed out on backing him at 12/1 too <doh>

Congerton was a feckin' disaster, both with Gus and Dick. Add 'That Woman' to the mix, and it's no wonder we were in trouble. When Short finally persuaded Dick to come back, he should have told Congerton to go out and get the players Dick wanted. Remember the 2 failed medicals in a week fiasco, Lombaerts and Fer?. Never mind, at least Congerton brought in Adam F*cking Matthews. Twat!!

    Similar.

I can see merits in Poyet, Pearson and Cowley Bros.

Would just like to see attacking football and not setting ourselves up to combat the might of Doncaster Rovers, Fleetwood or Grimsby.

McGeady training back with the first team today apparently. Looks like whoever is coming in has made it fairly clear they want McGeady in the team ASAP

He did the Altidore/Defoe deal though. Surely that lets him off the hook a little bit?
