You can’t go posting common sense in a doomie thread marra! I’m sure part of this negativity comes from events of our recent past. Ellis Short was a billionaire and was led by the nose by people like Gary the Hair and Mags Byrne, people you wouldn’t trust to run a meat raffle. Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is nothing like that. This lad has wanted to own a football club like his dad for a very long time. He’s been able to observe the inner workings of Marseille from a unique perspective, mixing with some of the finest minds in European football. The fact people are saying the likes of Charlie Methven are going to have his ear is absolutely crackers. If anyone needs convincing, imagine having every available opportunity in life then going to Leeds for two years to learn about grassroots football. I’m from Shields and the thought of going to Leeds for a day trip makes me want to projectile vomit like the young lass from The Exorcist.
I will be worried until the deal is done... and the fat lady is warbling.. Last years deal went belly-up probably cos of Donald/Meths Let's see how the land lies when the dust has settled.. I am starting to run out of clichés
So who then Smug? The full time politician on the other side of the world or the 22 year old? I'm just praying they have somebody competent in charge cause nobody who is involved in the ownership of the club look fit for the role.
Well to be fair very few people buy a football club with the sole intention of ruining it and themselves yet new owners **** up football clubs all the time. As much as I don't want to rob the 22 year kid with an inherited fortunes and no personal experience of running a football club other than watching the team his dad owned of this credit you speak of I'll reserve might to retain a bit of caution over our 141 year old football which recently nearly died a death was result of the last rich person we gave credit to who then ruined our club. If that's ok with you boss?
It's your opinion and you're entitled to express it, just the same as I'm entitled to express mine. Why the need for the snipe at the end?
I'm a Doomy? Don't know much about me do you daft lad, I've been called a happy clapper on this board more times than you've had ****s so stop talking **** daft lad. As for common sense, stating a new buyer would want to make his investment work is not common sense. It's stating the ****ing obvious
Because you chose to patronise me for not giving a new buyer credit, which is your opinion not fact so no need to be condescending and you'll get no attitude back right boss?
Whatever, first you address my concern without actually addressing me, I'm 'those people' despite being here, rude, then you humour me, sorry 'us' as I'm one of those people of course, with talk of new buyers wanting their investment to work, well duh of course they do. Then you make claim were robbing people of credit. Talk to me like an adult who is actually here and we might get on. Don't like it when folk talk from a plinth down to me cause I'll do it right back at ya
****ing hell,mate..there's some issues there. Certainly didn't mean to upset you,but it doesn't look like we'll be able to get on.
The question was "Am I the only one worried" my answer is no your not, its one thing knowing what you don't want, for me it was Parky and his tactics, but what comes in its place is a bit of a lottery. I would hope that the new owners will be more savvy than Short or Donald both tried their best imo., but both found out that their is no certainty in football, however good the intention. Out of curiosity what would you like to see happen next Bri.
Would be nice if somebody in the running of OM was available to take the role. Would be reassuring at least, I know that could cock up too like.
Would be nice if they sounded like they knew what they were doing, and just gave us some decent football to watch, we live in hope.
The mighty Accrington Stanley have 3 games in hand on us and can go above us tonight., Yep very worried.
