If Sarr had started falling any earlier for that penalty he would have been in the dressing room at half time. We are getting our share of luck. Last week Kabasele got booked for a challenge like the one that didn't didn't get them a penalty.
Nevertheless, we are much better with two forwards. Gray played well apart from the howler that nearly gave away a goal.

So we have Hughes, Capoué and Cleverly to fit into mid-field somewhere, yet the three who played there today could rightly feel miffed if they were left out.

Was good to see us having so many shots.

    And being in control generally.

I listened on the radio while washing the cars ( my preferred option to watching a crap stream on a hand held device) and reading your comments I thought I had been listening to a different game
What today proved it that Deeney and Gray works (as we knew) Deeney and Pedro can work well, Deeney and Pericia might work and Pericia and Pedro could work well in the near future
Four Four Two or Four Three three are our best options, and almost every player in the first team squad has scored at least one goal
The future is bright, the future is yellow

Gray did play better it must be said but the way he deftly played the Preston forward though for a 1 on 1 against Foster was the sort of pass I would love him to be capable of at the other end. He threaded the ball from 20 yards through, splitting our defence open. Well played Foster.

That was one heck of a pass by Deeney - we really have missed him...

Alex Neil: “We were playing against a Premier League front line. We've a lot of younger players learning their trade. Give me Troy Deeney and Andre Gray and let's see how the game goes - different story. It's easy when you're on that side of it."

Does he mean Sarr rather than Gray?

I don't know - but I'd be happy to give him Gray...

    The
Their defence was so static. Three defenders could have tracked Chalobah but they were all too busy watching Deeney.

No. Jesus saves or, in this case, Foster.

    Neil does mean Gray.
Worth pointing out that not only were they missing about 5 starters they apparently did not buy anyone in the last window so are likely to end up middle of the bottom half this year, say 15th

Which highlights his value to the team. Whilst they were gawping at him in awe, he instinctively played the ball into space for Chalobah. He barely had time to register that Chabs was moving there - speed of thought can trump physical speed at times...
