My main thought after today was that we don't have the strength in depth I hoped we had. If Honeyman gets injured, I don't see another number 10 in the squad, although I'd be interested to see Mayer there. Was disappointed but not surprised by Samuelsen. Hope I'm wrong but I don't think he has the physicality or maybe the mentality to ever make a consistent impression in English football. Sure he'll have the odd moment but not sure it will be much more. Was more disappointed if anything by Scott, who I thought was equally powder puff, showed poor control and was partly responsible for their goal. Haven't seen the game back yet but it looked like De Wijs as too often before lacking composure for their goal. I think he is now for me third choice number 6 after Greaves and Mcloughlin, who I thought had a decent game.
I've not been impressed at all. Came with a big reputation. Crocks himself before he's kicked a ball. First touch akin to a baby elephant. (using it's feet not it's trunk). Vision of Stevie Wonder. Speed of Captain Tom. He's nowhere near at the moment.
I like Burnsy, knowledgeable beyond football and a great broadcaster. Its Peter Swan I have the problem with, he only played 80 games for us 20 years ago before our glory days, he's held in no regard by City fans as a former player and he's a dull uninformed pundit, how he's still with the BBC is beyond me.
You didn’t miss much. We Huffed and puffed with several players looking rather limited. Then again now our season is quickly becoming a serious promotion bid a good performance midweek and all will soon be forgotten.
I sort of agree, I’ve heard better ex City players in commentary, but him & Burnsy, tend to play off each other. I do like the chemistry, but if another came in, Burnsy might be more match oriented, sometimes, our games are in need of Burnsy & Swanny.
He was excellent as a target man, caused them all kinds of problems, BUT, he was stupidly offside too many times AND he wasted several good moves by passing an easy ball into touch AND he missed good chances. So, his usual performance except for the first bit. Despite all that, I really like him, he's a trier, but I think it's pretty clear he's nowhere near good enough for top of L1 let alone Championship.
I had it in hospital. It gave me really frightening hallucinations. I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than pain relief.
Yes it seems he's destined to be a league 1 / 2 journeyman striker, almost has enough but not quite, clubs willing to take a punt, making a career out of a good year he once had...
Positives* today a few back up players today may push for a place (Coyle) , some need more time (Scott) hopefully , some just not good enough (JDW) , interesting to see who moves at the next transfer * & figured out how to cast my phone to the TV
Best use of a song integrated within a movie ever. (As opposed to a song used over the top of a movie's action). FACT. Oh, and whilst we're on the subject, best movie ever. FACT. By the best director ever. FACT.
There's a live version by Springsteen on YouTube that's worth checking out. Shows what a phenomenal band The E Street Band are.
Look on the bright side, we won't be getting hammered or walloped or abused by a championship or PL side in R3. Every cloud eh... Saying that lets hope we don't pick up any injuries to crucial players, because the 2nd string aren't good enough.
