I'm guessing the primary reason for Utd seemingly playing a diamond midfield is to get Bruno and VDB into the XI. But it guess it should also assist in countering the way that we play. Less space for Armstrong and Djenepo to find inside. Less chance of us stealing the ball in the centre of the park.
Seriously, does anyone know what is wrong with him ? It`s nearly December, so he must be physically fit by now, albeit not match fit. Maybe Ralph just doesn`t like what he sees in training. Anyway he is first in my virtual Saints side of players who have allegedly been signed by Saints, but no one has ever seen. He`s in central defence with Forren, with Forecast and Pulis forming a formidable backbone to the side.
Nothing wrong with him. Ralph has been quite clear that he needs to develop him before throwing him in the first team. He has said he likes what he sees in training - strong on the ball - but with the back line playing so well and Jack deserving of a challenge if any of them falters, it makes sense to continue his development on the training pitch. He has added that we rarely buy players who can immediately help the team but will work with them and develop them so they can be a big part of our future.
Pace, pace pace, press press, press Test and frustrate them, let them pick up a few yellows and exploit that weakness.
Watching Sky Sports. Man Utd are playing someone at 2pm. I think it might be Spurs as they will be talking to Eric Dier next.
Looks like theres 3 teams involved... utd, Tottenham and Chelsea. Must be some kind of unique mini tournament.
It is refreshing to see Sky not just focus on the top 6 clubs ahead of the Saints v Manu match - its important to cover the mid table sides as well.
