I’m just as excited about this takeover as the vast majority and I honestly believe it will be the springboard to bigger and greater things for SAFC.
But playing devils advocate here, we all wanted Short out of the picture so we were over the moon when Donald and Methven came charging in telling us all how they were there to save the club etc. etc. Look how that turned out so I can see slightly why some others may not be as enthusiastic as the rest of us.

I know, I know, before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm not disputing any of this takeover stuff and don't want to get dropped in with NQD and KittenMittens etc, BUT...

Can this be classed as a takeover if Sartori has just taken a bigger share in Madrox and KLD has taken on a percentage? I'm guessing Madrox will still be 100% owners of Sunderland AFC, and the new makeup of Madrox will be KLD - 40%, JS - 40%, SD - 15%, and CM - 5%.

If KLD doesn't have enough percentage for total control, then it's just an investment isn't it? Like he legally won't be able to call the shots anymore than CM or SD with only 40%?

If this is all true, and won't in fact matter anyway, then feel free to tell me, I'm just worried that KLD coming on board is just a way for CM to get another shot at running the club.

Personally I don't care how instrumental he has been pulling all this together, if he's in charge (as Chairman I'm assuming) then I'd rather all this didn't happen. I can't get behind him and do not want him representing my club.

Known as Japs and British round our way. I spent hours getting the noise of a machine gun right.

Cowboys and Indians was fantastic. I remember I got a toy rifle for xmas, the first present I opened that year, then my Dad noticed it was only half one in the morning, and packed me off to bed. Needless to say, I took the rifle with me.

Anyone remember playing Tiddly-I-Go ? Loved it! <cheers>

Even if the share distribution was as Armstrong States, I'd have thought Sartori more likely to side with KLD than CM.

The thing is, why would KLD come here to invest in SAFC if he had the minority of shares, people get hung up in a 23 year old snotty nosed kid thinking he knows nothing and will be a puppet for CM!!

He will have very big hitters in his corner who will know the ins and outs of running a successful business, look at his stepfather for one, and I seriously don’t think his mother would be letting him walk into this blind.

so what if CM is involved, I agree with you mate, if he has managed to broker this deal then fair play to the bloke, yes he is a tit of the highest order, but he is still trying to broker the deal (to line his pockets) but if we end up a successful football club again then that is what we are collectively craving.

there are a lot of ifs and buts and he said, she said floating about right now, let’s be patient, see what the next couple of days bring and see where we are come this time next week.

surely now is the time we should all pull together and revel in the positive news (that the club hasn’t denied btw) and stop this internal bickering and childish snipes, we are Sunderland, lads and lasses, some of the best supporters in the land, let’s start showing it, Haway, Haway, Haway

I’m happy to wait and see what the outcome is BUT I wouldn’t be happy if Methven was the chair of our club. In fact I’d be fuming, quality football or not. I’d enjoy the football but spend every waking hour scheming of a way to undermine him.

I'm looking at the fact the present majority shareholder will be replaced by a different majority shareholder then to me thats a takeover.
The best way I look at it is SD and CM will have no say over the football side of it and hopefully knowing how much they are hated up here we'll not see their faces anywhere near the SOL

Was the the one where you pissed in someone’s letterbox then knocked on the door and legged it? Nah, never played that and if you did then you’re a very sick puppy.

SD doesn't worry me, I think he'll shrink away. It's Charlie that worries me. He'll not want to be behind the scenes, he loves himself too much and loves being in the limelight.

I think the difference here is that the new lot seem to have left nothing to chance in their pursuit of the club, and have the right credentials and financial backing to be able to meet their aims. SD's Due Diligence was haphazard at best, and led to all sorts of skeleton's appearing.

The problem is that the ones who have poured scorn on this 'takeover' are beginning to have some credance. Will have to wait till whatever is officially announced but this exciting takeover looks anything but. Even madbobs original statements on the 'investment' appear to be as close to the mark as anyone has been.

I’m going to wait and see what happens. Yes some people were being over negative but I also think people drinking champagne was a bit OTT. If we get a director of football and a new good manager then I will get excited. I’m worried by gordon Armstrongs comments. Methven running the club would be disastrous. Why would anyone want someone who has no respect for the club or fans running things? I don’t trust Donald, methven or sartori. They have had over 2 year running the football club and have been terrible and clearly just interested in making money. If the new people coming in aren’t running the show it’s a no from me.
