Put an alarm on in case I fell asleep. Woke up as they touched gloves. Fell asleep again. Looks like I missed a great fight.
Oh lol He quit.... I feel sorry for the lad.. He needed to lose like a man, but sadly he's lost his pride
Yeah I’ve seen he’s copped a lot of criticism but if his eye socket is broken it will probably prove to be a smart move. Not sure where he goes from here but he’s only a baby so plenty of time to build him back up. Read an article about his dad being minted so he can take his time without worrying about that too. Joyce said he wants Usyk. Would prefer to see him retire Whyte and kick on from there.
Joyce seemed to win without even trying... He just won off a jab nothing else. Smart and disciplined, but I think uysk tears him apart
I still don’t get it like, he must have not wanted Joyce to get the win by KO, as surely you’d just cover up in a corner and wait for the ref to stop the fight. Strange way to end it but either way like a few have said neither fighter going anywhere now, shame as I had higher hopes for Dubois but he just never evolved, too wooden, no movement. Has a lot to learn but I’d say he doesn’t look like he’s got it in him.
Tyson Jones was better they went for it, but 2 min rounds kinda killed it. Hope to see Tyson again he looked lively... Don't think Jones trained for that
Spence vs garcia next week I think Garcia is way better than he gets credit for and spence is overrated I'm going for Spence by points though
He just didn’t know what to do imo, a complete lack of experience. That eye was already bad then he took the shot on it & it must have hurt like hell. Plus he’s then lost all vision from it. So he’s decided that’s him done in that second. He’s taking loads of stick for it, especially from the pro’s, but I suppose with hindsight, he’s not winning from there, as he was behind anyway, so he’s lived to fight another day. He’s had no previous experience of serious injury in the ring, and he might have honestly been worried about being blinded there. What that fight showed was that it’s one thing banging out bums for fun, but a young boxer like him needs a plan ‘b’ & he just didn’t have one. He’s got a good jab, but barely threw it in the entire fight, that was plain weird. At 23 that fight came too soon for him, that much is obvious, it remains to be seen now whether he’s got the heart for it and wants to come back and literally start again. As he’s now miles away from a big fight against one of the elites. If I was him I’d take a few months off & get myself a new trainer ffs.
He wants to put some dosh in his bank for his retirement. He’s pissed away well over $600m over the years, and before last night his total net worth was estimated at only $3m. He’s added a quite remarkable $10m (before tax and costs) to that from last night & he obvs fancies a few more money spinners to see him right in his old age. It’s nothing but a circus to me, as I remember watching him in his prime, when he was completely unique.
