So everyone here who is delighted with the penalty awarded for the 'foul' on Welbeck would be in complete agreement if that was given for the same challenge by Aurier on Werner tomorrow? Because I would be fuming, its as soft as soft can be and if that is a clear and obvious error by the ref then I am a dutchman. The offsides fair enough under the current ridiculous VAR version of offside they are technically correct personally I hate any goal being chalked for an offside that cannot be seen by the naked eye but I have made that clear on numerous occasions.

I would accept it. Football has changed and nowadays one should expect an offence to be given if one kicks an opponent in the penalty area. I don't particularly approve of it, but on the flip side, I read somewhere a modern referee revisiting the 1970 cup final, arguably the most violent football match ever played in the UK, deemed that if that match was played now, the red card tally would be 'well into double figures'. That type of football that destroys careers is also unacceptable.
