    1:30pm Sunday
    2-0 away win
Grant McCann insists Hull City will not be taking Stevenage lightly when the sides meet in the FA Cup second round.

Forty-four places separate the clubs, with the Tigers top of League One and Boro 21st in League Two.

Hull City are the highest-ranked team in the competition at this stage and comfortably saw off Fleetwood 2-0 in round one.

Alex Revell’s men edged past non-league Concord Rangers on penalties after a 2-2 draw and recorded their second league win of the season by beating Port Vale in midweek.

It will be the Tigers’ first visit to the 7,800-capacity Lamex Stadium and the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

A place in the third round is up for grabs but McCann is not looking any further than Stevenage.

“It would be nice for us to get into the third round, to test ourselves against some of the bigger clubs, but we need to take care of Stevenage first,” said McCann.

“That’s the first task. It’s a tough game – they’re all tough games. They had their first win for a while against Port Vale. They changed their shape. They’ve played three or four different systems this year.

“We’re going into the unknown a little bit in terms of what they’re going to do against us.

“But we know about them. We know about their players individually. We know what they’re about as a team.

“Alex is quite new to management and I’m sure he’s going to have a good career in the game.

“It was nice to see them stay in the Football League as they’re a team quite close to where I live.

“I was a bit worried they were going to drop into the National League at one point because of what was happening with points per game.

“It’s a good club, a nice stadium, lovely pitch. It’s an opportunity for us to go there and try to progress.

“We’d like to have a run in the FA Cup. We feel like we’ve got a good squad and can give people a lot of games."

Similar to last week, a **** tip devoid of culture & soul.

I did my driving test in Stevenage. Piece of piss if you can drive straight & use a roundabout.

    City 3 nowt.

Never had to do one when I did mine. Was Sutton Road flyover there in 1974? There was no way they were having learners stop on Anlaby Road flyover and start pratting about doing hill starts.

It'd be too risky for the poor sod with the red flag.

They used to do them on Park Street. That's why I went to Hessle for mine in 1972. One set of traffic lights. I had to go onto the dual carriageway to do a roundabout. I did my hill start on the dual carriageway first. I saw sat in traffic in Hessle for a good five minutes. Very handy.

The actual test wasn't difficult. The only hard part was the much needed and often used since, reversing round a corner at a consistent distance from the kerb. Really hard as cars are straight and corners are round.

I took mine in Hessle. The hill start was on a railway bridge.

As a safety consideration, to make sure I never lost my license, I never bothered taking the test.

Even Hull had stopped the red flag requirement in 1974.

Motorcycle test in Hessle was by far the easiest. Drive around the square, he’d jump out with his hand up..emergency stop, one question on the Highway Code... congratulations you’ve passed..
I heard some silly bugger ran him over one year, obviously he failed....
