    At least Benitez got them some European success though. All Hodgson did was sign mid table standard players.

    Dave Bassett was a clueless cock socket as Watford manager - a poor man's Harry Redknapp with an answer for everything but not a smidgeon of common sense, consistency or literacy. The world would be a much nicer place without either of those ****s in it <ok>

    Oh I don't but he was always one of my favourite players (I still love that footage of him smoking on the bench in the 1990 World cup semi final) so whilst he drove me nuts as our manager I kind of feel a bit guilty about being horrible to him in public. And yes - that does make me a very, very sad inidvidual!

    lol..you have to disassociate the player with the 'Manager'...(see, i use that term loosely ;) )...yes, a great player..but not exactly the best Manager we ever had...by a very very long way!

    Oh I agree and there's no logic behind my comments. That said, he was still, to my mind, better than Basset. I developed a true hatred for that man when he was destroying the team in front of our very eyes.
