That area around Malton / Pickering is lovely. We used to live on the wolds before moving here, we’re a bit further south now, only a few miles from the coast.
Nice. I've got very fond memories up there. We used go on the North Yorks moors steam railway from Pickering to Whitby for fish n chips. I must get up that way again some time with my daughter, show her all of my childhood favourite places. And probably bore her to tears with steam trains.
I love Whitby, it just gets a bit too crowded for my liking. If you get up this way Filey is stunning, and there’s a great walk out on the brigg (don’t get done by the tide lol) you get seals basking at its far end.
Yep I know Filey well. My old dear has cousins in Cayton so we'd all go down there for the day. Another place I used to love up there was Robin Hood's Bay. Used to be an old Landy Defender that would take you up and down that really steep street down to the harbour.
Currently sat in a Teams meeting that has absolutely nothing to do with me, thanks for the invite ffs. So many muppets talking utter ****e.
I used to get called to business meetings at my HQ which was a 140 mile round trip from my work base. Nothing would ever get discussed there that couldn’t be done in an email or phone call. used to sit there thinking ‘what decisions did I make in my life to end up in a room full of you ****s?’ So glad I ****ed all of that **** off.
When I reflect on 2020, one of my overriding memories will be repeating “you’re on mute” about 50 times a day!
one of my overriding memories of my last few years at work (ended 2015 ) was thinking or having to say "you have a mute button so ffs use it " though if they listened to me i would have missed someone letting out a huge burp and going "thats better" to general hilarity .
I enjoy muting random people in meetings to see how long it takes people to notice. Also lowering their hand when they raise it. Childish but keeps me amused.
****ing hell, just found out that an old friend mine lost their daughter this week. Died of a heart attack, 22 years old ffs!
It's awful mate. They fell out about 6 months ago too and never made amends which is gonna ruin them forever. They also leave behind a 9 month old baby.
