Bowyer showing his failings again tonight. You should not be getting smashed by a bottom of the league side that haven't won a league game in 2 months.
A night to forget I think , we do play ****e against the weaker sides , was unsure about dropping Albie after he’s latest performances, like rug said I’m not sure if LB knows his strongest side yet but don’t think Bogle should be in it
The worst performance since Lincoln (A). Very poor from start to finish. The defence was riddled with errors, the keeper had a shocker, and the passing from midfield was atrocious. Bogle stunk the ground out. It got marginally better when Aneke & Morgan came on, but you shouldn’t be losing 4-2 to a side that are 14 games without a win. Lee Bowyer needs to have a look at himself - far too much rotating , and the lack of consistency in team selection is really showing. Pick your best starting 11 for f ucks sake.
Leave it out Kojak. We lose our first game after winning 6? on the bounce prior to Gillingham. Typical ott comment from you again. #inbowyerwetrust
Our static midfield was equally to blame for the result. They were just doing enough to get by. Burton midfield had the energy.
I have some sympathy for Bowyer regarding rotation, we were getting loads of injuries when we had only one game a week. Thanks to Covid that's generally two a week now and this rotation business isn't just us, everyone seems to be rotating from the Premier League right down to League 2 this season. With the number and (on paper) quality of our midfielders you'd expect them to do better. I thought Morgan was excellent once again when he came on, I don't think he misplaced a single pass - I'm expecting him to start against Ipswich. Nice goal from Aneke too, the difference in first touch between him and Bogle is enormous. Pearce has been on the bench for two games now and Oshilaja one, they should be match fit for the weekend. I'd put Pearce in for the weekend and drop one of Pratley or Watson.
Most of our squad has benefited from not playing through three international breaks so far this season. Even Williams & Levitt hardly played for Wales, and Matthews had no football until October. So not sure the two games a week argument holds. Any successful manager knows his best starting 11 and formation - you could put all of us in a room, and nobody could guess Bowyer’s. It’s starting to look a bit clueless, to be honest. The treatment of Morgan is perverse and this Bollox about Bogle ahead of Aneke is the sort of mistake that gets a manager the sack.
